I'm hiding in a bush in the rain - confused, sad, lonely, tired. I see a cosy, warm book store right in front of me. The door is open wide - calling out for me to seek shelter from the pain. I want to do nothing more than go in. Yet, I find I cannot place one foot in front of the other. On and on, the cold drops drench my bones - as I stand looking at what I know I need to do, but am unable to. As the evening wears on, I realise that just because I can't help myself today - doesn't mean I never will. I will find the courage to help myself one day very soon, and in that courage, I shall find the strength to open my own book shop as a lighthouse for all the souls who are as I once was. And when that day rolls around, I will make sure to leave my door open, inviting anyone and everyone who needs me. A silent reminder that there is help available to them if they choose to take it - and that truly, one is never alone. ✨

The Lord, your God is a jealous God. He keeps us sick, lonely in grief and hopelessness. Heaven forbid, if we were content, loved, healthy and safe, we wouldn't call on him and cry out to Him as much. He would have to share us with other people and things. God ain't gonna have that!
