Shahrdad , I think you will find that the score has little or no written trills. A trill is the rapid alternation between two notes and is notated as such in a score. What you appear to be doing is confusing trills with runs. Runs are of course made up of single notes or octaves and are abundant in this score. The trills that Battle performed therefore are variations or cadenzas. The few trills that Regula are executing are variations to the score which she achieves perfectly. That greatest of sopranos Ingeborg Hallstein performed this piece the best in my humble opinion with some trills but Regula's rendition is excellent and very close!

Patricia Janeckova's version at age 17 is far superior to this.I like them both but they are nowhwere near in vocal quality and ability.Muhlemann is a very good soprano of these days,while Janeckova is a soprano for the ages,to be among the greatest ever if she is healthy and no misshaps occure.

I also love Patricia - but she is , d`apre`s mon avis , quite a phenomenon, a gem , located in Czechoslovakia , without great ambition to reach out. Maybe I am wrong . But mark my words : Regula ( and Aida) are gna be the corner stones of future soprano -singery, the avatars of the late Callas ...

@@pantau9056 Patricia is just 21 years old!!!!!In order to complete her soprano studies and also not to destroy her voice she will be able to perform fully as a soprano in complete operas and not just arias in 3-4 years.It is a well known fact that you are able to pursuit an international career at age 27 at least.Muhlemann herself started performing at age 27.Janeckova will be ready from 25.Muhlemann is 32-33 today keep that in mind.Janeckova is on a different level,a level of her own.
