I feel like the charm of Regulation is in a world that gets increasingly corporate all the time, seeing a group of people do something because they love it and not just for the shareholders is becoming increasingly rare and very endearing to the audience.

Was nice to hear a bit more behind the scenes. Listening to all the processes behind RT is no wonder it ended up failing. It all sounds so mechanical and profit focused and I think that really showed up in the later videos. It was a company that rose in popularity because of the personalities of the people making content, and it lost a lot of that personality as people in offices started making the decisions. I know it was a hard thing to lose, but I really think it was for the best as its nice seeing the creativity and your personalities come back to the forefront. I think that was also reflected in the community. The RT community had become very toxic, constantly complaining and hating on people and things, where as this community seems much friendlier and fun.

I don’t know how anybody else feels, people might have completely different opinions on this. But the only gaming videos that I personally would watch is Hitman, scary games, or maybe some other obscure game that I’ve never seen before. I like to see how you guys strategize in those type of games and you guys have a funny way of not doing what the game tells you to do. Personally I probably won’t watch the gta videos, but other people might love them.

My favorite content you guys put out, is the content where you all are having the most fun. The trouble that had been run into before was the constant nagging of “the fans want minecraft, so you MUST be making minecraft videos” and having that tight grip on what you CAN do but not what you WANT to do. So don’t let yourselves get put back into that corner of always feeling the pressure to go with what other people want-it always, always comes across in content when you all aren’t thrilled to be doing something.

The lets plays i enjoy the most are the ones that can be more bitesized and silly, like Pico Park, Chicken Horse, and that one car game. The GTA where you play by your own rules, like the crossing traffic ones, are also great. All things in moderation though. Variety is useful for inteoducing new games into the mix. Id love to see you all play PlateUp or Overcooked for some prime miscommunication issues

I heard some good advice about patreon from another podcaster. People aren’t generally going to subscribe to a higher patreon tier because of exclusive content. People mostly subscribe to patreon at a tier they can afford, because they want to support the show. Locking content behind certain patreon tiers just fragments your audience and limits the reach of that content. As Geoff said patreon is better for side content and testing new ideas because it’s an audience of guaranteed viewers who are going to interact highly. Your main content should be available to as many people as possible because it’s job is to grow your audience, and exclusive content should be tangential or expand on the main content to keep existing fans invested.

It’s been mentioned a bit in other comment sections, but I think the biggest problem with the time table for some of the supplemental content is that the guys have started talking about other content A LOT more than they did prior in the podcast itself. Like for the GTA 4 Traffic video, if I remember correctly, that had no explanation or tease whatsoever on the podcast. It just came out and was one of the funniest gameplays you guys have done. But with Gears, you’ve been talking about it so much on the Podcast, telling us things that happen during the gameplay that we won’t see for weeks or even months. It kind of takes some of the fire out of the gameplay, and the same can be said for other supplementals as well.

It'd be neat to get the community more involved with something. Like whenever Andrew's 20,000 things list is done, a zine could be made out of some of the words with art pieces submitted from fans. A zine in general would be awesome, especially because Geoff had to explain what one was to Andrew. I'd love to see Andrew make what he considers to be a zine.

@ailulittle9969 күн бұрын
Do ALL gameplay videos live through twitch, edit and ship on YT. Set up cams etc via discord? You can’t recreate the massive machinery you had w RT easily, but this way you get more twitch engagement/sponsorships/income/subs. AND a YT backend. YT gameplay stuff will feed into twitch too. You already hit over 1k and I think I saw a 4k viewer stream on twitch, that is amazingly fertile ground for growth..

When it comes to the backlog why don’t you just have a day or a couple days where you just put out a couple videos a day. Not forever just tell you get a bit more caught up. I think I speak for all the fans when I say most fan will watch anything you put out. The one thing that made me mad about RT was all the videos that never came out. Let’s not start doing the same as RT. I feel all the videos made should come out unless there is a problem with the video. (Anthony From Alberta Canada)
