Hi Dr, thank you so much for your video over the holidays! I have pushers syndrome from a stroke a year ago. This is great to explain as i am a nurse too but in Rehab a lot of the therapists especially the younger ones would for example in hand arm group lessons just come behind me not say anything and push me the other way really abruptly ! they would just laugh and say you're not sitting straight. The thing is it's so sh*tty to do that because I genuinely felt I was falling really back the other way! I would feel very dizzy and fall if I was straight. So one therapist really helped like you, just reminding me all the time saying are you straight? look at the bed and windows etc for the lines to see and get my perception then to encourage me to pull myself straight. She took a picture of me leaning to the left, she then helped correct it and made a picture so i could see the difference. I slipped back very quickly in the begining but slowly improving. I still sometimes slip to the side but i am now aware of it, before i had no idea as i felt i was straight and in balance.

Exactly what I was thinking, the uneffected side is trying to engage the effected side - RESTORE WHAT IS MISSING!

Merry Christmas Dr Tara, thanks for the effort and time you give us. My complete psychophysical situation is incomparably better since I follow your instructions, which I would recommend to others. This is the most effective way I have tried so far. Thanks, nice week and happy new 2024.

Is the Gold membership still a thing? I’m just soo impressed with the info you put out. I had a stroke end of Sept that took another month to diagnose because my symptoms were “mild”. Left side weakness and reduced coordination reaching for small things at counter height. Also balance issues. I have Kaiser insurance and it’s ok but as a retired librarian information is my game and I don’t feel fully informed about “my” stroke effects. Just go here go there do this. Fine. But I get nothing like what you present here. I’m in California. Do you or your team do virtual consults?

Much appreciation, especially new content in a holiday! I love your vids, so it's my---yep, thalamic/hemorrhagic (L) brain---'can't take' long explanations, b/c the needed asides for context? Words & talk drive me mad to follow--BUT, my R brain just l-o-v-e-s your explanations! So hilarious--I can feel the push pull of the push pull. (Why is She still talking? v Tell us more, Tobias rocks!) I listen, stop vid; listen, stop vid. To help my perception get convinced: Had friend hang 2 hardware store long mirrors (@$15) back of hall door & a room door, then a thin masking tape or marker, vertical, center line as visual aid. I can SEE my angle in 2 different settings + contexts, like at the PT clinic. So annoying when you PT people are right Both mirror doors can close so reflection doesn't startle me at night or if I forget. Now, I can practice what feels MY vertical v mere earthling's accurate vertical. It's like being in NASA training---perception & reality SO different! One conundrum: best AFO for R foot? 'Blocks out' bottom of R foot getting feedback. Use quad cane outside--gave up vanity, never fall. 'Strange' moments when standing, very occasional: sudden jolts to my R, like poltergeist or just body slammed. Yes, I don't have caretakers, and grumpy still finds me. It's hard to remember the STROKE really does influence logic & response. I don't mean to be cranky, but I seem to enjoy it cuz I get grumpy, resistant, or choose to be smarmy & irritated by 'able bodied' (insert eye-roll here). I'll def repeat watch vid again. I get a little confused w helpful ideas for caretaker/asst since I'm my own caretaker flying solo. THANK YOU!
