The show has gotten so much better since Molly Wood left. Jason needs no co-host. Especially not another leftist hating on the greatest visionary of all time Elon Musk. Quality over quantity. Amazing to see all these legendary guests.

@20:15 the reason people fear job transitions is simply about loss of income, having to reset your career and earning ability is tough for the lower/middle class, upper class can easily take a few years off or lose income for a couple years and not have this affect their standard of living.

Do you think AI will enable people to transition faster?

Great pod! You mentioned we need AI to assist with retraining to help the 80 million displaced from AI. This is why we built with Talloot. We use ML AI to identify the critical skill benchmarks in a job which we validate with humans (who've performed that job) to build targeted assessments to identify and bridge skill gaps.

"The reason I say this (ai) is bigger than the internet, or mobile, or bigger than cloud is" ..because I am heavily invested in OpenAIs success and virality, and havent really built or contributed to a thing for 20 years since Paypal. Of which I didnt really build just snuck in back of all the pictures so people assumed I was important

What're you talking about? He then proceeded to sell us a course based on a "proven" technique of blitzscaling, which is definitely not pushing ponzi-like pump and dump practices a la much of the valley

This interview demonstrates just how difficult it is to stay on the forefront of AI. Reid is so well connected, including being on the board of Open AI and yet: - He hadn’t heard about ChatGPT code interpreter, potentially the biggest innovation by OpenAI yet. - He and the founder of Deepmind seem to have totally missed with their PI chatbot. It just doesn’t feel like a viable competitor to OpenAI and Google. The reasoning he gave to justify its existence just wasn’t defensible at all here - easily replicable as a system prompt in more powerful models “pretend to be empathetic, say ‘haha’ and write slowly”. - He failed to spot that the portfolio company building AI slide decks had no moat against Google sheets and MS PowerPoint copilots. This surely illustrates how even leaders in this space cannot keep up with the advancements

mmm i hope im wrong but i feel like all these "leaders" are underestimating the power and disruption that AI could bring, and how fast it could be if it evolves into an AGI-like thing

Crypto never shipping products is what turned me away a few years ago... Gala Games and the gaming coins being the worst because the use case was so obvious from the beginning of Blockchain stuff but not a single ubiquitous implementation through nft and everything is just crazy! And when Snoop Dogg partnered with Gala I was like, "Noooo!" and just wanted to save Snoop from their history of empty promises cause Snoop is the Greatest Rapper Alive! 🔎🐶
