This is probably what Towa sama was talking about when she said it's hard to keep Aqua on a leash, they would probably win the whole thing if they can find the right balance between offense and defense but it's gonna be tough to change your playstyle completely in such a short time.

no it's not. without aqua, the entire team's balance is disrupted. it's actually aqua who is retroactively leashing the entire team, despite towa thinks she's controlling aqua. every tournament towa has participated in she needs a carry and an enabler role who can bridge communication between the carry and towa. the perfect example of this is towa, selly and bora. towa could not keep up with selly, but could try keep up with bora who could keep up with selly. if you analyse their past games, selly would always be far ahead of everyone else trying to kill people. this is because you can't expect to consistently win the tournament by having rng circle positionings and good placements from lack of third partying. aqua has to be the proactively making fights and ending them before getting third partied. moreover, unlike selly and bora she has a higher burden to deal with since suisei and towa are less skilled in comparison (towa is still a good player, suisei is just new but she has talent). on another note, aqua is less skilled than selly and doesn't know her boundaries as well when taking shots at other parties. however, it's disingenuous to say that aqua is being kept on a leash by towa. because although towa says that, it's necessary for aqua to take action into her own hands to carry the team and it was a sad thought for her to process that. similarly to with selly, the team needs to be centered around the carry for the highest efficiency. teams that don't require being centered around a carry are those that have trained for long times together, like knr or the cr members. if shibuya hal, gorilla, and admin were on the same team for example then they would consistently take first place in the cups regardless of poor map rng. the same applies to ras, selly, and cpt/mondo. this is also why the top players have to be nerfed by being excluded from the competition or having to participate with controllers instead of keyboards and mice. anyway, my final point is that unless startend trains for several months at least they will not find the perfect balance that can complement each member's abilities. instead, they need to focus the team's setup around aqua since she is the carry and this has been the successful tradition for a long time in the cr cup. this is also especially since suisei is new, and towa's gibraltar undertakes a more supportive role. they need to adjust themselves to aqua, rather than aqua adjusting herself to them because her potential is being held back. an example of this is how she 1v3ed kuzuha's squad and took high ground. but then suisei and towa got caught from 2 people behind, towa died and suisei took too long healing, then they ultimately lost the final 3v3

to be honest girls have problems making fast critical decision when they out of time. And thats only because they dont have that much expirience playing full team(same team) competive when whole team need to move as one at same time which leads in them die one by one not trading very often. so if Aqua become more passive wont help win games coz when they run out of time they tend to lose only on that reason mainly as i see it in games. i really wish it will not be last tournament for Aqua+Towa+Suisei but that probably it... i really enjoy watching them play as team =)

Aqua's aggressive play style is actually suited for this type of tournament especially when teams are just so defensive. She can back them in any corner but ends up the other way because towa and suisei still can't pace up with aqua's aggression whenever there is an opportunity to push. There's still 6 more days of the scrim and tourn though.

Its still hard because enemies are all over the place(small ring with tons of squad left) if they dont push/kill fast they will get sandwiched by other teams. Thats why BH worked well in their last match pushing is much easier and it helps them know (esp. Aqua) where the enemies are hiding when they push.

Theyre fairly new team, this is expected right from the beginning. Towa might be the only one that played in a tournament, while Aqua is just a pub star, and suisei is still grasping it together (but shes learning damn fast, she can hit PK shots better than most lmao) Give it more time and we will see it to fruition, tho given aquas statement that it will be her first & last tournament presence. (fingers crossed for this). Tho we might see them play in pubs together after this, and play in another tournament sometime in the future

Suisei literally the rising star even with very little experience on Apex but can already go toe-to-toe with some of the more experienced players on the tourney. Towa's Gilbraltar is something to lookout for already and then there's Aqua lmao.

@@burukani Do you remember that this is a tournament ? Securing a compound is much more important than winning a team fight. if you too focused in 1 team fight and let the other team steal your compound, its basically over. Thats why Aqua is using Wraith, so she can do some scout and damages to level up her Evo shield. And when she's on a bad spot, she can use her tactical skill to get back to the compound. Stop blaming Towa and Suisei, they have their own role and task. There's a reason why Shibuya Hal give Aqua 10 pts since her skill is almost at the predator level, and Suisei is only at Gold rank before joining the tournament.

Startend is the defenition of Edge Playstyle, add to thd fact that they had climatizer as their landmark (popular for edge). There are two playstyle in Competitive Apex, Edge and Zone. Zone are what most JP teams (and in turn, most participant in vtubers) are playing. They race to the zone and play a game of musical chair and play battle of attrition. Edge are known for just staying on the edge of the circle, fighting every late rotational teams you see and taking advantage of your stacked loot. Remember that Zone playstyle need to rotate asap and in some cases, have to have less loot. This is high risk high reward. I think this actually fit Startend as I think they can win most 3v3 fights. In competitive Apex, a high stack/level lobbies favors Zone playstyle as they know that teams will rotate faster and will gatekeep teams that are late in rotating. I believe that Startend can also play Zone playstyle if the ring favors them or if they loot and rotate fast enough.

The funny thing, I watched that entire stream, and I feel like they initiated most of their early round fights instead of 3rd partying. Even the clips shown here, they were straight up forcing a fight, neither of those were 3rd parties. They didn't really have a choice but to 3rd party in later circles because the area was so small and there were so many teams.

I've only watched a few games from their perspective, but they mostly seem to be losing out on rotations and positions. They mostly go out when they're faced with really tough or on-the-spot rotations. Their fighting capability is good, but they need to work a bit better on calling and managing rotations.

Even tho she's lacking a little bit on Turnament experience, but her individual skills is too Insane. Sometimes it became a blunder since Towa and Suisei will have a hard time to keep up with her. Sometimes she got a really good flanking spot since she's using wraith and can knock 1/2 enemies while cracking the others. But that kind of gameplay has a big risk to get 3rd partied and will leave them in a bad spot. I just hope they can still have fun with the tournament, especially Sui-chan. The Anti's keep blaming her for being down early or doing some mistakes, its really sad.

In my opinion, they don't simply take any fight in front of them. If you listen to their conversation, they would only take the fight if Aqua crack one of the enemy's armor first, or if enemy got third partied, or they just simply have to take the fight otherwise they wouldn't be able to get into the zone. I think, what they need to improve is decision making and rotation. Sry if its hard to read my english, it's not my first language.

You could look at it differently. Perhaps they are taking as many fights as possible during scrims to get more practice in, and will play more careful during the actual tournament. The amount of fights might be helping Suisei improve faster, for example.

Team Holo could have ranked higher if the meta wasn't more on base defense. They spent too much time in one location pushing defensive team which makes them vulnerable to being 3rd partied. Defense meta really made it hard for aggressive players, but it's exciting to watch the matches because of the chaos it brings.

Because in last rings you will be always 3rd partied if you dont do something smart. I guess in early time Aqua should be main IGL to guide her team for kills, but when in comes to get the champ, Towa should be main IGL and dont let her teammates rush in battle and die from sandwitch.

The stats may overstate things abit, their setup is 1 entry fragger (Baqua) with Towa/Suisei as support, so it is normal her total damage is always higher. But as others said here, that won't win you the tournament as it is more profitable to stay hidden as long as possible vs engaging every skirmish.

it's not more profitable to stay hidden AS LONG AS POSSIBLE. you do realise all the consistent winners of the past cr cups have been those who engage in battles? this is why it was dominated by players like selly and ras. the video literally proves how despite being 12th place, they were higher than 5th place just because of sheer kills. if you stay hidden the entire game, you're literally relinquishing your chances of winning to map rng and unfortunate positioning where you can get third partied regardless. that's now a measurement of "skill", it's just luck. aqua should tone down her fights but not because she needs to stay hidden to win, it's because suisei and towa can't physically keep up with her. from being an avid cr cup viewer, a team like aqua + tachibana hinano (vspo) + shibuya hal / knr gorilla / kurumi noah would best suit aqua's playstyle.

If you listen to what reid said it is possible to win cause even though they got eliminated and only 12th place they still have higher points than the 5th place team. Imo what they need to learn now is to when to rotate and when to stop fighting

@@XLEZZY_REUPLOADS Which cr cup? They implemented kill point limit since CR cup 7 on round 1 to 4, while vsaikyo limit on round 1 to 3, you can't compare cr cup 1-6 to vsaikyo bcs of that. So unless they can perform consistently on every round they CAN'T win on kill point alone, you can check cr cup 8 winner is one team that consistently placing top 5 instead from KP alone. Going all offensive is unreasonable even though it looks fun for us. If they want to win they must play carefully on round 1 to 3 with high placement and started blasting on last 2 rounds.

Aqua is still in the ranked mindset, which is incredibly fun to watch, but isn't so great for tourney lobbies. You'd usually land uncontested then rotate early in to zone avoiding almost all fights. In the ALGS it is normal to see 15+ teams alive in zone 3. KP are important, but it's a br after all, so placement matters as well. And with Aqua's skill it wouldn't be difficult to get a bunch of KP in endgame.
