Great little project! I can't help thinking, though, that a trebuchet configuration might have been more effective, simpler to design and provide a more sustainable reload mechanic? Would love to see you try that approach (still working through your back catalog, so my apologies if you've already done this, and I look forward to watching it) 👍👍

maybe if you use hydraulics with cables instead of multiple of one shot pull bars, you could make it have slack right before or as i launches to hold it

could you maybe add a system with a couple additional gears to allow you to lock the pulling gear into a specific position, and then you could use the same pulling truss for each launch?

I would have used a second arm parallel to the first, I'd pull back on that then split the two arms so the first could throw the car. Not that I'd be able to get that far in the first place.

I think if half the tooth in the throwing gear were removed the catapult would shoot after the last tooth engaged and then could rearm itself just by turning further without split joints
