Good video, I had been waiting for someone to do something like this in Poly Bridge. The strandbeest are amazing creations, but they work so well because of the proportion of their legs. There are 13 specific numbers that make their motion. I hope you will read this and implement those in your "machine".
@ReidCaptain3 жыл бұрын
I'm going to have to look into that, I can see where these "numbers" come into play. I got pretty lucky that the dimensions I picked happened to work out haha. Thanks for the comment!

The problem with the four and five leg versions was that you had all of the legs out of sync with each other. All you need is two pairs of alternating legs, say 1-3 and 2-4, with each leg exactly in sync with its paired leg, and with the one pair synced exactly opposite the other pair. That way you always have two legs on the ground, spaced so that the whole machine is supported and can't tip over. If the balance is iffy, just extend the space in the middle so that the machine essentially has two legs at each end, and thus at any given time there's one leg at each end touching the ground.
@ReidCaptain3 жыл бұрын
Yep! Ended up finding that out in a very roundabout way, but that's exactly it.
