I love the scene of their last dance together (at least I think it was their last dance). I love the fact that Mary talked him through it, giving him the strength till the end. What topped it off was hearing the melody of Stay With Me in the background, because that's all they ever asked of each other. I have many favorite moments and scenes throughout the series but that has to be my top favorite. The chemistry between them two is amazing. Francis was her one true love, and Mary his. (In Reignverse) How can anyone not agree with that?

@@karlaburgos1920 Mary and Francis are real people, but some of the stories in Reign are fictional. It’s loosely based on history in that they were teenage monarchs who had a special love. It was not hot and heavy passionate like Reign’s characters, but there was genuine love and affection from the poems Mary wrote after his young death, and gifts they gave each other. Francis was probably sterile in real life and did not father a child out of wedlock and Mary did not have an affair with Conde, who was a 50 year old man who did try to take over real Francis’ reign. King Henri did father a son from an affair with the aunt of one of Mary’s lady in waiting, Mary Fleming, the one Lola Fleming is based on.

Mary was a delight at French court. She and Francis married on April 24, 1558. When Henri II died of his joust injuries in July of the same year, Francis (15 yo) and Mary (16 yo) became King and Queen of France, and Francis was named King of Scotland. Their marriage, sadly, lasted only 2 years and 8 months, as Francis passed away from a brain abscess caused by an ear infection in December of 1560. Mary was said to have been “stricken by grief.” So, it’s likely they truly did love each other and that was probably the best two and a half years of her life. It’s said that she fell in love with her second husband, Lord Darnley, and had her only son by him, but never saw the child again after 10 months of age and her marriage to Darnley pretty much fell apart because he was an ambitious ass. I would love to believe that when Mary was beheaded, she woke up just as she did in Reign, next to Francis, the true love of her life.❤

But as much as Mary was the body and soul of this show, it always felt like Francis was its heart, and once he was gone, the heart seemed to go out of it. This is a great video. Agree that Francis was the heart of the show. After he died, the grief was palpable!! Something I had never experienced for a fictional character!! I needed to make this video, leave out the bad parts, in order to process closure after his death. It was so abrupt and cruel what the writers did to them. Made no sense based on the epic love story set-up in the first season. Francis & Mary deserved better, so I needed this video to cleanse as much as I could to restore them!

you know that dance was practically killing him where he stood, but he did it because he loves her and it shows when he looked at her, at her side, etc. i can’t ever get over how it ended... when she says “fight for us, francis, please.” you can see the desperation in both their faces, but he’s already fading away and they can’t stop it from happening. she knows he’s doing to die, but she doesn’t want to face the undeniable truth, and he won’t let himself either, not until the end... he fights with everything in him until the very end when life just leaves him in a single breath. “we were meant to be happy, and we were... but i have another fate. such beauty you have brought me, you must love again.”-he said this because he wanted someone else to experience her love. “i pray to God that you do.”-and this was for her. the heartbreak is shattering and i’ll never stop loving their story & then her’s after him. she never got over him, as she knew she wouldn’t, and it shows until the very last moment when she dies and meets him in death. he made a sword for her so she wouldn’t feel weak when he left her... it’s truly a masterpiece. i applaud the writer/screenplay writer and director for showing us something we’ll never forget. & thank you to the person who made this compilation, it’s lovely in every sense of the word. if anyone asks me for a physical and emotional rollercoaster, i’ll be sure to show them this so they understand that historical drama’s aren’t as shallow as they’re believed to be.

Katherine Ross thanks for watching the video and leaving a comment! I felt the same way about being drawn in by the fictional story of these 2 characters that were based on historical monarchs. I don’t watch scripted TV, pulled up Reign on Netflix during a summer afternoon and was mesmerized when the feathers fell in the Pilot. The entire series was exhausting due to silly TV writers creating plot lines that didn’t exist, so I needed to make this video for closure. A tribute to the young actors and their amazing chemistry and to fictional Francis and Mary spending eternity together after such a short bittersweet life.

THIS IS WAY TOO SAD. Happy tears at the end only because I hadn't fully watched the show, and I didn't know they ended up together after death. After season 3 couldn't watch it, it was this ship that made the show for me, and haven't watched anything about this show for a year or a little less and man, it hit HARD. Thank you for making this, and reminding me of one of my favourite ships.

yeah, I agree. I had a little break from The Reign after Francis died, because I thought it won't be the same without him, but I had to finish this show and right now I'm crying so hard and I am also happy. I'm proud that I am one of those, who watch The Reign

They were my absolute favorite part of Reign. Well them and the Qeen Mother Catherine and all her machinations. The scene right after his death when she screams still brings tears to my eyes. I felt that!

Believe me watching them separated.. Gives me real pain.. The tears cannot bear half the grief and pain.. I felt.. A man so much in love with a Girl, he gave up everything For her... even herself to arms of other man in front of his eyes to get her healed for the tragedy she faced .. Yet at the last when time came.. He avenged himself by protecting her costing him his life.. Yes he was King of France but more.. He was a KING To her QUEEN.. Long king King Francis ❤️

This show taught me a lot about responsibility for family and passion. In a society that just gives middle fingers to old values coz of temporary pursuits that give fleeting pleasure, i think it was a really great watch. There is a certain way that i respect of how the writers brought about that aspect of holding on to values and holding onto love simultaneously that i just loved about Reign. I will not forget how i felt watching it. And re-watching lol

They both went through so much hell together and apart. But when they francias died...I cried and cried. All the wanted to do was to make her happy and protect his peopl, he didn't mean to get her hurt. But when they got back together, I was so happy. BUT THEN HE DIES BROO 😭. This show has so much emotion, love and pain in it. If I were to die and had to pick a show to watch, I'd without hesitation would choose this one. May francias and Mary forever be in love
