Reiki brings Balance not Unicorns

Often in the wellness and spiritual growth rhetoric is the idea that we can Reiki ourselves into a state where nothing bad ever happens to us. This is Unicorn thinking. Reiki brings balance and acceptance into our lives and helps us connect with our inner essence, that which is never disturbed by anything either good or bad.

Maybe you cover this elsewhere but I've encountered some Reiki Masters who are just in abyssmal health. Why do you suppose they suffer so much? Have you tried traction for your shoulders? I have the same shoulder annoyances and traction seems to help.

Yes, Reiki Masters don't escape being human, there is no magic wand and Reiki is not a curing modality, it is for balance and alignment. We assume ill health is an imbalance, but who says that? I only suffer if I think my shoulder issues are not supposed to be there, that pain and illness is wrong. Its possible to be in alignment with all that is. No suffering needed!
