I love how we (the audience) are positioned like spectators in the story for example we get a load of wide shots/MS from the outside of the rooms that distance us from the characters but I think it makes me feel like a character looking in on them which links into the theme of distrust and secrecy which I find the first half of the book to be really about.

The way Gideon's death ends with her having a halo like a Saint bc she's holy to Harrow.... the subtle expressions, conveying so much in so little change. Just stunning and beautiful, both the art and the music! Also, the image at 3:45 reminded me of the tarot, specifically the Five of Swords (if that was intentional, awesome!). One of the meanings when upright is "winning at all costs" which is interesting and cool in the context of that scene, but equally interesting and cool is the reversed meaning of the card: "reconciliation, making amends, past resentment."
