Just because those 2 rivets (each side) are really long since they go through longeron and stiffener underneath. Drilling long rivets out can be difficult. I decided to not risk elongating those holes

Why did you prime only one side of plate before installing? Why not both?

I usually prime the top after. That way rivets get primed also. Plus the primer is going to get scratched and dinged during riveting. In addition priming the top doesn’t do much since it’s alclad alum. The joint where moisture can get trapped is the important one

Cool, Stu. Not sure if this has been asked and answered before. If so, sorry for the repeat: why the black gloves? I've seen then in a number of your vids and have been meaning to ask. Are you protecting your hands or the airplane parts?

Haha that’s a popular question. I use them to protect myself from chemicals that you don’t see but also pointed out to me by other KZbinrs to use them to reduce distraction. Then it’s funny they get commented on

@@stusaircraftfactory6592 also good to use when riveting and holding on to bucking bar in tight areas so you don't drop it on skins. Ask me how i know that !!

@@timothywade9913 It’s not a grave concern. I only did it cause everything is open and we’ve had 3 issues at local airport. Monitor it and get flying!!!!!! I build a RV6 and didn’t do this
