Is my information correct or false? I had heard from a fairly knowledgeable source that Heydrich was a closeted homosexual. I don't know the veracity of this, but it's just twisted enough that it would NOT surprise me if it WAS true.

That story is absolute rubbish. In fact, Heydrich was well known as quite the opposite. Despite his marriage to Lina, he was a notorious ladies' man. He had many enemies within the Reich and was feared by most of the top brass because of his intelligence and efficiency. This accounts for the rumours by which they tried to blacken his name through impugning his heritage and sexuality.

Ernst Rohm (leader of the Brown Shirts) was homosexual and was killed in the Night of the Long knives, the operation Heydrich helped orchestrate. As far as I'm aware, no rumours had any evidence behind them regarding Heydrich in that regard

Of course not. In order to join the Allgemeine SS, one was required to provide documentary evidence of Aryan ancestry dating back to 1750. He would never have been accepted as an officer without such proof.

Thanks for clarifying. Is the fact the Heydrich probably was fully heterosexual a redeeming quality, given his dedication to and actions as the director of genocide against ALL humans judged inferior by the 3rd Reich?. It is impossible to view him as anything but a completely despicable human being who seemed to be without compassion, remorse or a redeeming moral compass. I may sound sanctimonious, but I assure you, I am only affirming the failures of a fellow human being and not trying to elevate myself.
