I thank the KZbin gods for recommending this channel. People said my music taste is bad so I doubled down by playing bit crushed low quality distorted mainstream music as a way to get accepted. The compromise is that people can vibe to the music and I troll people. I'm working on finding a better solution but having a hard time.

“People can vibe and I troll”🤌🏻 A solution is BETTER than nothing at all. It’s all an iterative game and you’ll come across the right solution but it sounds like you’re on track

I just recently moved in with my dad after a failed 9 year relationship and I've been feeling like change isn't happening fast enough for me, which is leading to increased feelings of depression. I have felt like a stranger to myself and I definitely fall under the Philosopher archetype. I get analysis paralysis so much that I get overwhelmed and depressed. I try to make a plan to take action but when it comes time to do so I find myself freezing which leads to increased feelings of regret and depression. This week I'm going to continue to reflect but also find small ways I can take action in hopes to help build momentum. Thank you for this video, I will be watching more of your videos when I get the chance.

I FEEL this in my bones when it comes to analysis paralysis and freezing. Here’s what I’ll say about ‘overthinking’. Overthinking IS creativity at its core. Your mind is making 1000 connections with everything and it’s a sign your mind is operating at a higher level. The challenge is being able to select the most effective routes because realistically, all of the roads lead to Rome. The good news, is that the cure is usually in the things we avoid and just doing something. As you do the small steps, the bigger picture will become clearer. I’m also in the process of recording a couple of vids that i think will help

I’ve learned about challenging the mental resistance by interrogating where it’s coming from, why it’s affecting me and if it’s a valid concern in this moment, but your explanation connected for me. Or maybe I was ready to hear it and understand it now. But it definitely made it clearer for me.

I’ve noticed that we can hear the same thing for years, but all it takes is a couple of words/phrases to REALLY make it click. Glad i could help with that!

Your videos have helped me take steps in the right direction this past week. The video about emptiness and this one resonate with me. Have been starting to feel a plateau when it comes to self improvement content and the kaizen mentality. You remind me that there’s other things out there that can interest/challenge me effectively and that I’m not alone on this feeling. I appreciate and thank you 👍🏻

This is awesome. Do you feel a plateau because you feel you’re hitting a rut now? Or is it more-so a lack of a direction at this point?

Not necessarily hitting a rut. I got into self improvement about 3 years ago. I’m very hard on myself if I don’t check all the boxes. So I’m disciplined but feeling lost at the same time. Like what is the next step for me to level up again and will I even feel better than I do now if I find it?

Got it. From my experience in being in those phases, I always looked at it from the place of: “Cool, I’ve gained these habits and perspective, now what new arena can I apply the principles to?” In terms of not checking all of the boxes… i can promise you 99.9% of people (even the ones that say they do all habits daily) are full of it. Tbh even if you’re at 50%, you’re crushing it. Matt D’avella has a rule that i like to live by, which is the 2-day rule. Never skip out on a habit or action for more than 1 day. It’s okay to miss, it’s not okay to miss 2 days in a row. Based on what you said, it sounds like you’re just in a phase where you’re asking “what’s next?” And to that, i would actually STOP trying to find what’s next and find a way to just do things for the sake of it. Something will stick if you can allow yourself some space for those ideas to come in
