Now please a few songs about the civil war, WWI + WWII, Weimar Republic, French Revolution and we have a new genre: historic education metal. I'd go back to school at once! Seriously, this one is amazing and stands out. The voices, the speed... a smooth, solid piece of work! I can't believe I found this gem of metal because I searched for "amazing horse metal" a while ago.

9 years later and here I am... uhm... Tommy has been a guitarist in Sabaton for almost 3 years now, and their latest album (first one with him) is called ‘The Great War’ and is about... well, WW1. The music for ‘A Ghost in the Trenches’ was written by Tommy and Joakim (the singer). Most of Sabaton’s sings are about military history, mostly the two world wars. I highly recommend them, great music and awesome live shows. For diversity, you can also check the band Civil War - some former Sabaton members, nice power metal and yes, lyrics dealing with the American civil war
