Thank you for introducing me to a Song of Tommy's Band that I have never heard before, AND for playing two versions of it. My option is that he skillfully Slashed The Light as a teenager, but he brutally Murdered it as a 35-yr.-old !!! His musicality has matured and improved over the years, and it doesn't appear that there is any holding him back. I am SO happy to ride on Tommy's Rocket Ship! This is an amazing song , especially the new version, even though I really like the original too. As I wrote already, Tommy recorded this when he was 18, it was the first ReinXeed official single. Fun fact: Tommy recorded album The Light all by himself, only the drum parts were re-recorded in the studio later, so it's Tommy vs Tommy here 😃ReinXeed was always Tommy's project, his "baby" and he kept it going even though many band members changed through the years. Chris David has been with Tommy the longest, him and Alex Oriz (guitarist who left Majestica in 2021 because of hand injury, played on both Majestica albums) joined Reinxeed in 2013 , before the album A New World. My favourite ReinXeed album is 1912, a concept album about the Titanic. For me it's Tommy's masterpiece, brilliantly told story about the Titanic in form of power metal (even though the storyline is not so clear at first listen, because their label at the time mixed up the song order, ruining the storyline). I'd love to see that album re-mixed one day, with the proper song order

I REALLY LIKE both versions. In the org. you can hear what a talented and great singer and musician he already was as a young man. ABBAMAN., I really like the newer version because he does sound more mature and very polished not that the first version is bad by all means I really did like the instrumental section towards the end glad he kept it for the newer version 2. I just can't imagine how much more accomplished he will be in 20 years he is just sheer perfection at this point in his career😊

Oh my God! David, you made such a wonderful gift! If I'm not mistaken, Tommy wrote this song at the age of 15 (or 16?)! And then she sounded great. But in the new version, this song certainly sounds more mature. The voice became deeper and more saturated. And of course, the skill of playing the guitar has increased many times. Saw the Hammerfall t-shirts. Hammerfall save lives. I was so drunk in 1999 Nummirock that last time i remember we were playing football with some random dudes and drinking vodka. Petter is singing a lot on the original version, on the anniversary recording he is almost gone, understandably, it's hard to beat Tommy. Dropkick Demon did a reaction on this tune, he called Tommy " you majestic bastard" best comment ever!

Did Petter really sing on the version from 2008. ReinXeed was originally Johansson's solo project and on the debut album, The Light, he played every instrument and I have never heard that there was another singer involved. Have to ask on next hangout then.

No, he first recorded this song when he was 18. The first ever ReinXeed song, recorded in 2002, was Future Land, but Majestica already recorded an updated version of that song on Above The Sky album (it would be fun to see a comparison for that song too, both versions are on the album), so Tommy chose the first official ReinXeed single for 20th anniversary of ReinXeed
