I'm 67 years old and discovered the Gazette 18 years ago, and have loved them ever since. I was so shocked and saddened by Reita's passing. It still hurts to think he's gone. He was so amazing and talented.

Yes.. the actual translation was "I want everyone to promise me here today to die on the day i was born" but the word die for them is actually the opposite so it actually means to live.

I just heard yesterday and it's all i've been able to think about today. I found gazette when I was 13 and it blew my mind how intricate the instruments are especially the bass where in the west they usually just opt for playing the root note of the chord. Needless to say it changed my life and my brother bought a bass and I a guitar and we would cover gazette songs in music class in school. I'm nearly 30 now and still listen to mainly japanese music. RIP a real hero of mine he will be missed

I miss his laughter. I still cannot accept he is gone, never will. He is forever in my heart.

Still i keep thinking of reita so many times even in one week. I can't believe how much you band was there. Not just musically. Even the humour yet humble presence. I'm happy he's still living in me with my soul despite never been able to meet him. Thanks reita-san. I just wish we could have more of you, but I'm thankful for all you've given. I'm not sure even what I'm talking about. But looking at this video brings so many emotions.

@@desicakes289 , I feel your sentiments, it's okay to have the feeling of regret. At the end of the day, you supported them your own way which is what matters. I'm sure in another multiverse we would have cross paths at that time frame. Hope you take care!

I've been holding off watching videos about Reita for the many days after hearing about his passing. The GazettE and SID were the first V-Kei bands I've heard of (and one of the first videos I've seen online, parents waited for me to be a little older before allowing me gadgets that can connect to the internet). I've been surrounded by classical, R&B, and rock for most of my early years, but after hearing and liking V-Kei, I really started to explore and learn about other music and meeting people with different interests. I often like bassists from bands I discover, mainly because Reita made me really like and appreciate the instrument and its contribution to a song's overall structure. So when I suddenly heard of the news, tears fell and I had to pause from listening to my usual playlists. Though we haven't met, I mourn you Reita, and really thank you for living and giving us fans the joy of following The Gazette and your music. If there is an afterlife, I hope your stay there is fun and full of the love everyone has for you. Love your band, The GazettE, and thank you.

I only rediscovered Gazette recently after so many years (have had their NIL and Stacked Rubbish albums forever but kinda fell out of keeping up over the years). I was so happy to see they were still together, and now this sad sad news. Reita was much too young to go so soon. :( I hope he rests in peace now.

I just had the bravery of seeing the documentary but didn't expect for tears roll down my eyes immediately. Gosh being a fan since 2015 for their dogma era and being able to have the privilege to see them live at their first New York concert was a blessing. May the GazettE be strong together their bond as bandmate and friends together with the fans sixth guns we will get through this together.
