I remember singing in this piece, it was the first time I really heard Brittens' music ; it remains one of my favourite works of his. If you're able I would recommend anyone visit the Red house in Aldeburgh, though this piece was actually composed in the Old Mill in Snape, where Britten later composed peter Grimes.
