Monica does not receive cold calls from the people she helps, they write to her on WhatsApp or Facebook and she calls them. In real life , many people do not pick calls from unfamiliar numbers, they let them go to the voicemail and if need be they call back. Have you considered she was being cautious not to be conned?

I think MK was understandably cautious but also admirably courteous. I'm a baby boomer, therefore in MK's mum's age bracket. I know I would have disconnected the cùcù within the first minute.
