It's kind of funny. In the teacher's manual of A Course In Miracles, there are some direct comments Jesus is making about relationships. And it's funny, because he's not saying, "There are some good ones and there some bad ones." He just kind of calls them all learning opportunities.
So he says, "Yeah there are some people that you'll barely know, like acquaintances. And those are learning opportunities. And those are people we call acquaintances." But he doesn't really address it that way. He's just, "People that just in passing, you know, pass through our lives, learning opportunities.
But then he gets to another category that we would call life mate. He says, "There's people that you'll spend a great deal of time with," which could include life mates. And he says, "That doesn't mean there aren't going to be challenges." And he even says, In fact, you might even find," (like the wording is along the lines of) "They might become quite contentious."
But again, he's not saying, "Oh, that's sad. You should go and find the right one for you." There is no such thing. They're all just learning opportunities. And our job is to create holiness amongst our thoughts about all human beings ever, throughout all time. Complete love, unconditional love for everyone. Spiritual love for everyone. That's our destiny.
It's not just our goal. Thank God it's a destiny, meaning, one day it'll actually come to pass. So why do I want to prolong that by still having judgmental contentious relations?
Do your best to heal all relationships that come into your life - acquaintances, life mates, or whatever they are, but see through things a little more clearly. Be awake, spiritually, and see through things. So just recognize that, you know, they will go through stages. Don't say to yourself, just because it's going through a challenging stage, it must mean it's over. But also don't say because it's in a honeymoon stage it's supposed to be forever.
Those are both ego presentations. Honeymoon to basically B.S. ourselves into getting all you know stimulate and excited in the situation, and then the honeymoon's over, getting into fault-finding and judgment. Neither of those are God.
So, we're going to go through those, but see them.See them and call them for what they are, and do your best to say, "You know, I'm going to create gifting relationships and when I do, I'm not going to so easily get tempted to toss them out. Because when I give thanks for them, because there are some good relations that reflect our progress, don't dis them or you throw away your progress. You see, the ego will trick you into doing that.
Try not to give in so easily on those that have been earned. Instead give thanks for them. And do your best to stay out of judgement with the others. It doesn't mean stay blind and remain in a hurtful situation. But do your best to see it and learn what you can from it.
"Where's this coming from? What are these lessons about? What are these buttons being pushed, and where are they coming from?" Ask. And then practice your best to forgive.
But you can also then make your decision. "I forgave, but I don't think I'm staying in this relationship." Especially if there's any kinds of dangers involved. Especially. God would not want you to be in pain or in danger. Leave. God would want you to. If you're in danger of some kind or your children are in danger, leave. But God even in that would say, "Now that you're safely in a hotel, a women's shelter, or in your own house, a new life, I want you to sit and take some time to see what you can learn from it so we don't have to see you do that again.

Wow. I just got a big AHA moment. The thing where couples work on keeping the romance alive (of course both must be invested in this for it to work) really means they are working to keep a false reality. So we shouldn't keep longing for that 'loving feeling' but work on the reality with all it's highs and lows. And accept that reality is the norm instead of chasing the 'butterfly' of what we think we are missing and what we are led to believe is the norm according to the media (and certain relationship 'experts'! Thanks so much!!!

Hello Michael. Thank you for the reminder. I did reach a state of higher consciousness and when I looked at anyone all I saw was their magnificence and their beauty as divine beings. I loved everyone unconditionally because I was connected to that love and it was being reflected back to me. Having left that altered state I am back in ego and I can't see that anymore but I know it's still there waiting for me to connect to it. I am looking for love in all the wrong places. It is inside of me waiting to be expressed. It doesn't exist externally to me. Bless you for reminding me of what I know but have forgotten. The truth sets you free. Blessings and love to you.

I just purchased “Creating Fulfilling Relationships”, and even though I’m only starting chapter 2, I’m enjoying every second since the very beginning. I’ve been happily single/complete for many years working on my inner self, and looking forward to experiencing a Gifted/Holy relationship in God’s Perfect timing - if that is His will. 😇

Hey Michael, totally agree with the “after honeymoon stage, eventually we will not like anymore…” after understanding and experiencing relationships with jobs and humans, but with animals/pets, I really feel so much love for them from day one till their last breath, all those I had who had passed and my current living pets… I’m still wondering why only towards animals we have the honeymoon stage till the last day ❤️

All relationships go through the three stages--although some stages are less perceptible than others--due to having a more authentic love for some. But even animals go through these stages for most owners--as there is a stage when many owners play with them as the animal gets older. That's still a sign of the second stage.~MM

I’ve experienced every sentence Michael. For those who seek, there is always an answer. Our brain works so weirdly. Before experiencing awakening If you’d ask me have I ever cheated in my life? I would say never ever. I’m THE most loyal person in relationships. And I have been, with all the non-committers. But recently I remembered only one case, a guy who was respecting me the most, and I have cheated on him by a one night stand. The moment that I remembered that night, I started crying, for the pain that I’ve caused for that guy and for the fact how blind I was to deny that I can be a cheater. Accepting our shadow sides isn’t going to be easy but it’s so liberating. Thank you for all your talks 🤍

It's so courageous of you to see this and own it. And now it's important to learn from it so you can move forward. It's so typical for people to push away others who are perhaps healthy or good for them. It can be that they don't believe that they deserve the good OR they have a secret edge calling for the more shallow behaviors . . . and so on. Whatever the reason (inner cause) though, our job (as the doer or the recipient) is to learn and graduate so we can move on to higher levels of life and consciousness. ~MM

Ha. I am in the 2nd stage with my employer. I already feel I will not be continuing next season, but would like to distance myself in a more peaceful rather than resentful way. Already I have been seeking forgiveness between us and know it will come if I persist. Its a relief, really, to see another in a true way. No pedestals, but an appreciation of who they are in the better moments, while also not denying the not so great moments. It allows me to be myself, as well. I once stayed at Madonna House in Combermere. There I met a man who spoke of the woman who started it. He spoke of how cranky she was and I said, How awful that must have been for you to deal with. He responded, "Not at all. It's just who she was." And right there was the essence of acceptance.

I agree that there will always be challenges in all relationships. My personal slant on this is, “every relationship has it own brand of bologna and it just depends on the brand you’re willing to put up with”. I’m not talking about abuse of anything that extreme but come on…you’re two different people coming from two different places. We aren’t always going to agree on everything. If we agree on everything then someone is not being honest. Also…I do focus on a person’s strengths rather than their weaknesses. And I am Pollyanna. It doesn’t mean I’m in denial but I allow the positives to weigh in heavier than the negatives. As always… thank you thank you thank you!!! ❤️❤️❤️

Forgiving my last partner has been pretty hard because he won't let go of his trauma, ego, addictions, etc. and became abusive. So this was an extreme lesson for me because I ignored what I should have in the honeymoon stage. But I did learn I deserve more than what I accepted.

Michael...thank you so much for this video. I just bought your book on relationships and am sincerely so glad to have found you! If I may ask, I have a question and some context: I absolutely love my partner of 8 years but finances have been an issue since the beginning. I've been supporting us way beyond what I feel I "should" be doing and it's caused a lot of resentment on my end. Even though I agreed to it, I did not realize it would go on this long. (I will plead insanity on that one.) In the last 1-2 years he's been on a significant journey of spiritual awakening, is a man of God, and tells me to have faith. He's in the music industry and is enormously talented. I've struggled with the faith he's asked for due to the lack of results for so many years and the backdrop of financial resentment. Most months he barely contributes half the rent alone. Do I keep holding on for things to change? I genuinely want our relationship to work out but we're at a constant point of contention regarding money.
@MichaelMirdadTeacher
@MichaelMirdadTeacher 2 жыл бұрын
Believe it or not, I knew where this question was going as soon as I started reading it. So sorry for the challenge but here's my advice: If you allow things to stay as they are, then you will have to totally drop into a state of COMPLETE acceptance--as though you will be okay if this is the way it will be forever. But keep in mind that if you accept this role, you are entering a contract to be his "patron" (a person who supports artists), which then puts you in the position to also play the role of his mother--taking care of him like he's a spoiled child. One option is to keep things balanced through an agreement wherein he does all the cooking and cleaning and other types of work to reciprocate. Another option is that you can hope one day his work and talent might pay off--which does happen for one in thousands creative people. Then he might be able to "pay you back." And you are correct, the tensions are there and will keep building if you do not completely own a new option or perspective. So whatever you decide, it needs to be something you can really wrap your mind around and accept. It would be unfair to both of you to fool yourselves into thinking this is okay if, in fact, it's eating you up inside. ~MM

So, basically, we are here to turn on the light switch metaphorically speaking by working on our animalistic side- all primary desires like survival, sex etc to discover our divinity
@MichaelMirdadTeacher
@MichaelMirdadTeacher 2 жыл бұрын
Well the idea of "working on our stuff" can take different forms. This has been taken way too seriously by monks, nuns, and mystics for far too long. It's partly about acceptance of ourselves and without judgment. And yet it's also important to not allow ourselves to go too far over the edge with our internal and external actions. It's really all about seeing things from a deeper perspective and/or seeing through whatever they seem to be. So our primal desires are both the primal spiritual desire to reflect God and our primal ego self that desires to sabotage our life with addictions and compulsive behaviors. ~MM

So, all the relationships including romantic ones are just to shape us back into our divine selves. Most of it is doomed from the start. That’s always a good question. I came to the conclusion that yes you can if you have tried to make it work. Definitely if your partner never met you part of the way. I personally don’t believe god wants us to be miserable. Even if it didn’t work out I think if we learn and grow from it. It’s not selfish to want to be happy and in a thriving relationship. It sounds like you already gave up. I stayed in relationships far past their ending point. If I’m wrong with anything I’m open for more understanding. They say the road to hell is paved by good intentions.

Ok so I should have practiced patience and waited till later in the video to understand. Oops lol I can love the light within not the evil, cruelty based ego actions. That’s a tough one 😏
