Mannnn this was just a TINNNYYYY bit over my head. I'm dying for the right explanation. I became a bit derailed when he started mentioning the unfamiliar measurement (to me), Torr. This just means I have a bit more learning to do before I can get the most from this brilliant video.

I know this was 7 years ago but can anyone explain to me what the actual point of learning this is? So, you need two given values at any time to find the RH. To find the RH as the video explains you need the partial / vapor x 100% to find the RH. To find the Vapor Pressure of any given temperature you'll use the antoine formula which is log10P = a - b/c+temperature which you can find the constants of abc for water a = 8.07131, b = 1730.63, and c = 238.426 to find your vapor pressure. But once you have the vapor pressure, the only way to find the partial pressure is to have both the RH and the VP but to find the RH, you need both the PP & the VP. In the end, I can use a hygrometer to find my dew point & my RH.

Hi sir you are indeed a good teacher. May I ask for example a problem says, "Air at 30°C has a humidity of 30%" Does this 30% humidity mean relative humidity or percentage humidity? I have confusion regarding this one. Thank you. 😊

What's the difference? HR = 30%.

May I ask a brief question. I am a photographer, and I am often concerned about condensation getting into my camera, usually when say going from a warm inside house temp to a colder outside temp or vice versa. I’m trying to get my head around how I might use the local dew point figure, rather than relative humidity, to help give me an indication of condensation risk and a toll to help me take steps to minimise that risk further. For example, if I note the current local dew point, then make sure my camera stays at a temperature above that dew point temp, I should not get condensation in the camera. Grateful for your advice on this when you are able to comment.

1:42 8:14 15:05🌟 VP(T) = F(x) "Vapor Pressure is fixed at a given temperature" Partial Pressure of water depends on the amount of water vapor in the air or Partial Pressure is the amount of water vapor already in the air

Let's review what you mention at 14:15 . It is clear that vapor pressure should be dropped as temperature is dropped from 30 centigrade to 27. You consider an unsaturated vapor at 30 centigrade. That vapor can be considered as ideal gas. Then, if you decrease the temperature of that unsaturated ideal gas, it's partial pressure should also be decreased as per the pressure law. It shouldn't be still 27 torr at dew point 27 centigrade. Some time this drop of pressure may be negligible compared the drop of vapor pressure. Can you please explain it .

If relative humidity implies rate of evaporation= rate of condensation, then shouldn't it be raining forever? Please correct me if I am wrong.
@santimonse

Si la humedad relativa es inferior al 100%, la tasa de evaporación es mayor a la tasa de condensación. Ergo: no rain, no fog, etc.
