I don't understand at the end, the main equation is that V_p,g = V_p,w + V_w,g. But 21m/s does not equal 45,1m/s + 32 m/s ! Can someone explain ?

Vectors need an angle and a magnitude it’s not just v it’s vector v. that is probably why they won’t add up. It’s not the same as just adding velocity
