One year, as an art teacher, I had 4th graders make ATCs. 4th grade study Indiana history ( my home state) so the cards were based on Indiana. I had lots of supplies plus lots of Indiana travel books and pamphlets they could also use. They made at least 3 cards...one to trade with me, one for them to trade with a classmate and one to keep. The kids had a great time making them. Principal and teachers were impressed! A retreat sounds great! Hope you all are feeling better soon 🙂

I would love to go on a retreat with you, Nicole. Because if you can do it, so can I! I am so much like the way you described yourself. Most people who think they know me, think I am SO outgoing and bubbly, but really, I am dying inside. So I would really like to give something like this a try. It really does sound like so much fun! I always love to see other peoples work! You do not have to have any expert qualities at all to do art, that's why it's so fun!

I love your ATC's and chatting. I make mine with masterboards. So much variety. I went In a few retreats and it's so much fun. Meeting nice people from all over. Too bad I live so far. Will have to add a plane ticket. A bit expensive. I encourage people to do it. It's a great experience if you can afford it.

I have been doing ATC for over 15 years. Back then, the rules for making them was no stickers, each card must have 3 things on them. You must put your name on the back and I like to list what I used on the card too

I love ATC's! I used to make them years ago and then life & kids happened. I then got into making Project Life cards instead. I've recently come back to ATC's and am working on getting some ready to trade. It's so fun to send them off and get something in the mail in exchange. I love the ones you created in this video, a very classic look. I would be interested in the retreat depending on cost and on timing. I am taking my first vacation with the family in about 10 years this summer, and I am taking my Scouts BSA Troop to D.C. I am very introverted, on the spectrum, so this would be a big thing for me if I can get past my anxiety. I would love to hang out with like minded people and craft though. Maybe exchange some ATC's in person. I also have dietary restrictions (allergies), so it would be good to have someone who can handle those easily, instead of me trying to figure out what is safe to eat. Besides, it would not be cool to pull you from crafting and hanging out, to make you go cook... nope, not good.

I live in Holland, in a small town called Spijkenisse, it's near Rotterdam. I just found out about atc's and it seems like a whole new crafting world is opened for me. Normally I make cards for christmas, birthdays, and so on. I would like to make the cards have a 'pocket' and I was looking for ideas for filling the pockets and so I found the atc ideas with such a variaty in styles. Yesterday I've got two adresses for journaling paper and perhaps I can help you with this (I think you already have ideas enough, but still). The books of Marta Lapkowska called Maremi's small art, cost euro 20,95 overhere and from Temu small bookmarker(s) and these are verry verry cheap. Furthermore I'm curious about the crafting retreat you have spoken of. Has it really take place in the meantime? (I think it take enormously much energie to make it happen). But who knows 😀. Thank you so much! The tool I used is from the Dollar Tree in the craft section. It's meant for smoothing vinyl. It works so good for glue books, I use it every single day!

If you want the stamps off of the paper fill a container with warm water and a drop of liquid detergent. Dump in the stamps and let them soak, even overnight.. The stamps will slide right off the paper. I used to collect stamps and would get bags of stamps cut from envelopes and this is how I got the stamps off the paper.

I agree that one should make cards that one enjoys making. But I don't agree that it is acceptable to trade unequally. Know your recipient. Think of it this way: are you swapping "business cards" or are you trading art? Your ACTs are fun. Thank you for walking us through your process.
