I lived in Japan as a kid and whenever I hear the sound of cicadas chirping it always brings me back to that magical time 😭😭😭 tysm for this

Gaikokujin here, but having been four times in Japan, this is THE sound of summer in Japan.

Same when I was younger and tired of running around, I’d just sit on the swings and just listen to this sound… I live in the states now and when I hear cicadas I start to get excited. I was actually surprised to hear that most people think cicadas are annoying since I’ve always loved the sound
@GlavataZelva31 Жыл бұрын
This makes me so nostalgic because, back at my grandma's house, I use to have this celling decoration with small chimes and they would sound identical to these one from the video plus with the sound of summer crickets and other bugs/birds. You made me relaxed, but nostalgia is that feeling that I love and hate the most at the same time.

This brings me back to when i was a kid. I still live in the same state but the summers are not like this anymore. Cicadas are now rare in my area. So much has changed since then, its really sad. But thanks to things like this recorded from places that still have this. It puts a smile on my face and also helps me sleep at night. Thank you for giving me a bit of peace when its hard to sleep.

We had a lot of them in the summer in the Midwest, but they have a different cadence to their singing than these Japanese cicadas.

I am in edo(tokyo) currently in rise of the ronin and that's so pretty with the summer vibe. Yet I didn't imagine it to look like this at all during edo period, I was more thinking about a giant town of wooden houses but it seems more scattered with sorts of villages all around it. With a lot of houses on its center. Shibuya, it's just 3 or 4 houses with nature. Looks like you're lost in japan's deepest countryside. How things evolved in only 200/100 years is terrifying and sad in a certain way. I love this game. And The huge wooden bridges, black roof, mont fuji in the distance, the pin trees, banzai, mountains in the distance. Japan truly is blessed with nature.

Like...this view is amazing, and it's super idyllic. But as someone who has lived in Japan and especially the countryside - you would not leave your doors open like this unless you want to invite the entire bug population of the mountains into your home, and there are A LOTTTT OF CREEPY CRAWLIES
