DALLAS TX BORN LIVED IN AUSTIN TX AND WAS THE GREATEST GUITARIST WHO HAS EVER LIVED RIP SRV

Great reaction🎶‼️ First time landing on your channel cuz I saw Stevie Ray. So this is a flawless and magnificent cover of Jimi Hendrix's original song. It is a very famous song but not a lot of covers cuz most people can't do it justice but Stevie Ray can do anything. What you were seeing when you thought he was having "foreplay" was him stepping on his Wah Wah pedal to create that sound. That beat up guitar is Stevie's main guitar. He was obviously hard on it but it was his favorite and it is named #1. His other guitars have their names as well. With inspiration from his older brother Stevie started playing at age 7 by listening to records from all the blues greats and teaching himself to play. He never learned to read music. He found if he could duplicate the sound with his mouth he could find the sound on the guitar. And yes, you are right; he devoted every waking moment for the rest of his life to playing the guitar. His level of mastery is unparalleled🎸🎶‼️💯. More Stevie Ray please🙏‼️. I am off to find your other reactions to him.

I saw an interview with BB King and Albert King. They both gushed about SRV's skill with wonderment and awe. No higher praise is possible.

Oak cliff in Dallas Texas!! Stevie picked up the guitar at 6yo and very rarely put it down after that. He actually practiced an insane amount. He never got bored

Sounds familiar because it's a Hendrix song and Stevie idolized Jimmi. Please check out "Tin Pan Alley" with Johnny Copeland. It'll blow you away ~ RIP Stevie ~❤️

Stevie started playing guitar at the age of seven. His mother had gotten him and Jimmie (older brother)Roy Rogers starter guitars.

In the beginning of the song, Stevie is pressing the "rotosphere": pedal on the floor with the WAH pedal. He isn't humping the guitar he is playing with pedals on the floor with his foot.

I was at Stevie Ray Vaughn's last concert at Alpine Valley, Wisconsin the night his helicopter crashed after the show. The lineup was Eric Clapton, SRV, Robert Cray and Buddy Guy. I remember leaving the concert and saying to myself that if SRV was ever in my area again I would never miss his show .

If you don't know, on the very start/intro that sound he is getting is a co-ordination with his foot on a pedal and his down strokes. You can't see it on this video, but it is a "complicated" delay, by pressing the pedal and releasing on the up stroke, typicallly it's called 'wah-wah' , because it sounds like that.

Voodoo Child by one of the greatest composers of all time! Only the Alien GOAT could cover this famous tune(IMO). Wish Stevie would have tackled Purple Haze. But have you checked out Little Wing (Hendrix) by Stevie ? Luv the reaction comments, too funny. Give that guitar a cigarette! ☮️to all. RIP, King SRV.

Awesome review bro. Love the comment about how the guitar looks...you'll often find a guitar player will find a guitar that just feels right to them and hits the sweet spot every time. This just shows the hours and hours of practice he's done on it and most guitarist would kill to own his guitar. I myself have an old Gibson SG that I've had for 23 years, is all beat up and looks rough as but could never part with it as it just hits the right sweet spot for me every time

Dude, now that you've gone down this road, you need to take a listen to the legendary Irish blues rock guitarist Rory Gallagher. That man could make his battered Strat do ANYTHING and is held in high esteem by players like Brian May, Slash and Joe Bonamassa. Take a listen to his live stuff, because that's where Rory really shines. A good place to start might be 1979, live at Montreux - Shin Kicker.

Gone way too early. Check out Leave My Little Girl Alone next. There is another equal to SRV out there that is alive and performing today. His name is Joe Bonamassa....... 16 studio albums and counting. Must listens: Trouble Town, Blue & Evil, U Upset Me, Redemption, Angel of Mercy.....I could go on and on and on. Check him out and if u get a chance go see him live b4 he gets old. You won't be disappointed. I love the way you have your video set up, better than all the other channels. Thanks for reacting.
