This one is absolutely simple compared to the other road one haha. I just did a slow run to get the crate gem and then on my first fast run I was half a second away from platinum and got it on my next run.

How do you get that speed boost when it counts down to the start of the race? Have you gotta press accelerate just before the green I don't know I can't seem to time it right?

Yeah you can get a speed boost at the very beginning if you hold down accelerate in between the 2nd and last light.
