As the helivopters told light to jump in light didnt hesitate. Us army won.... but for how long? As the helicopter got shot again by the sniper girl the deal was sealed They landed with the last strength only to hop in to a private jet.... Seconds later the atomic bomb launched and light screamed what are u doung u wanna me kill the president i dont WANT WARS as the soldier told him to stfu lil kid this is not ur concern anymore. Ryuk stepped in and took light away from the jet to a hotel... Light didnt do anything for the past 7 days and wasnt found.. depressed he slept Ryuk opened him the balcony but light was certain he kicked the glass jumped down the building only to grab on a tiny edge thats how certain he was! After he went to a building non spottable place outside ofcourse took out the death note... but which death note was it light wondered? Ofcourse the one from ryuk himself since he had 2 of them all the time🤣🤣🤣 So he began his killing spree killing from all presidents to all commanders and judges in the world. Ryuk smiled hilariously and ate an apple...

The real reason Lights ‘acting’ like this, is because he is actually a victim of the death note. It’s not vice-versa. That’s literally what it is put into simple terms. Light was basically one of the few unfortunate people that just so happened to stumble upon the death note. He was at the wrong place, at the wrong time. It’s actually stated by the author of the series that if Light had never found the Death Note, he would currently be one of the greatest Japanese police officers, so great that he would be working alongside L (Ryuzaki) in investigations. What the death note DID was force him to bring out his deepest, darkest truths that was hidden well beneath his social conscience. And it actually does say that in one of the rules of the death note that the notebook can heavily influence people to do bad things. Obviously, like I said, he was AWARE Of what he was doing and it’s consequences, but the death note played a huge part in making him commit these actions.

It’s not a deleted scene. It was never in the manga either, they created it specifically for the Relight films which were recaps for the series intended for those who hadn’t seen the original. The reason it wasn’t included was because it didn’t exist. That’s all.

2:35 I love how he goes from that insane smile to just pure rage. Like the fact he genuinely believes L is still giving him a hard time despite being dead. As if L is giving him one final quip only he can hear. One final snarky remark or knowing it was him all along and Light didn’t truly win in the sense “getting away.” And by getting away in the sense of never being suspected in the first place. That L was just that road bump that never should have happened. His “perfect” plan can’t be perfect cause he had to deal with L up to that point. And his ego just can’t stand that fact despite winning at that point.

I think the main point (especially the fading grin) is that the entire feud between them was a petty mind game; and whoever was the most intelligent would be the winner. Light has a lot of moments that show how immature and pathetic he is (and arrogant); even though L said himself that he's also immature, he's immature in a different way than Light. Until the point when L dies, he and Light are "growing closer in equal strides"; they both have to be smart enough to outplay the other, and smart enough to avoid being caught themselves; even if the end goal for Light is to kill L because ne *needs* him out of his way, and the end goal for L is to execute Light because it's the just thing to do, the battle between them is still a battle of intelligence; it's petty but also proves who's smarter because the way they're playing it, whoever wins must be smarter than the other. When Light kills L, he doesn't do it by being smarter; he does it by being lucky and in a very advantageous position. His dramatic yelling and pathetic "I win" do a pretty good job of showing how immature and arrogant he is; and it kind of seems like he's also trying to convince *himself* that he won ("That's right! I win!"). But his grin fades because he knows that in the end, L was smarter than him and, had they both played fairly, L would have won (and in the end L does win; since L *is* justice). Even near his end, when he thought he'd beat Near, he mocked him in his head, comparing him to L and stating that L was better because he didn't attempt to win in a "noble" way; which is somewhat true, since L used criminals as human shields before and planned to again; but in each case he had them killed by Kira (or was going to) on the same day they were scheduled to be executed anyway. Near may have been more picky about just *how* noble to be, but L still tried to win, and would have won, in a noble way. Light is still trying to convince himself that both he and L weren't constrained by the rules of "nobility" when it came to winning; even though he himself initiated their battle of intelligence when he realized L had tricked him into revealing his location. Light started the game and, even in his own head, set the rules, but as the pathetic and arrogant loser he is, he broke those rules and killed L unfairly. His mocking of Near's attempt to win with nobility is ironic, considering he calls himself justice; and especially since L, once again, also would have won with nobility. The only one out of the three of them who had to break the rules to win was Light. He lost because he wasn't intelligent enough; and his arrogance got in the way of what intelligence he did have. Light lost to Near after trying to use Mikami to kill them without doing the work himself; and even when he had an advantage like that he was still outsmarted. That might be why he saw L in his dying moments; as he's barely holding on to life and he's slipping away, he might have been closer for a moment to who he'd been before; and before he was corrupted by the Note he was the kind of person who would have understood that in the end, L won, and he won in a noble way.

It’s because him breaking this solemn vow, but also the complete disrespect of father’s legacy and that Soichiro went to his grave believing his son was a good man. Maybe something clicked and they realized Light wasn’t sad about his father’s death, but that he didn’t write down Mello’s name in time. Chief Yagami was a man they all looked up to and admired so to have his son be the complete opposite spits on that legacy. On top of Light’s disregard for his sister. His machinations made his sister a vegetable. They were disgusted on behalf of his family.

Man yall really don’t understand what Light had to go through to end up in that position, he set up Rem to die from switching Ryuk to Misa’s notebook and Rem to Light’s. Light understands Ryuks personality as Misa would ofc make the eye deal and half her life span again in order to find Ls name no one would remember after it being 50 days+ relinquishing your memories to discover em again and ends up beating L with the help of Ryuk, he already knew he would win the moment he touched the book n was revived from the dead😂 im still surprised that the show was continued even though the author wanted to end the show after L’s death but ofc the story had to be dragged on with 2 fake L’s like they could Neva match up with 1 of a kind L fr. There’s people that think this was too much but I think it perfectly highlights Lights need to beat L. Him professing victory to L’s grave maniacally almost in the hopes that he’d get the response he wanted from him when he was alive, that Light was better than him. When that doesn’t come Light is unsatisfied and angry. A testimony to his character; even if he had actually won and become the God of Death, it would’ve never have been enough.
