Circa 1989, Andre and Kevin Brown started a movement right in the heart of Harlem: the Uptown Comedy Club. From a hole in the wall to the place to be, the Uptown Comedy Club solidified its place in history as the premier showcase for up-and-coming Black comedic talent in the 80s and 90s.
THE UPTOWN COMEDY CLUB: THE BIRTH OF HIP-HOP COMEDY, part of comedy history. As one of very few places for new Black comedians to touch the mic in the 80s and 90s.
The ORIGINAL Uptown Comedy Club experienced national acclaim through the television show on Fox, popularizing jokes such as the “Yo Momma so…” Now is the time for resurrection of The ORIGINAL 'Uptown Comedy Club' as it celebrates its 30th anniversary and is dear to the hearts of so many comedians.

Kevin Brown aka DotCom is the originator of the iconic ORIGINAL Uptown Comedy Club.
Kevin Brown's other alias, as one of the originators of the Original Uptown Comedy Club, was 'Uptown Kevin Brown'.
Kevin Brown aka Dotcom as he is currently called, was a recurring cast member on NBC's 30 Rock for 7 years as the character Dot Com, one of the entourage members for the eccentric 'Tracy Jordan', the star of TGS.
Kevin aka DotCom was the recipient of the 15th annual “SCREEN ACTORS GUILD” (SAG) award, for his portrayal of “Dot Com” in the Emmy Award-Winning NBC hit-show “#30 ROCK.”
As a proud father himself, Kevin Brown aka DotCom, is now an official Celebrity Spokesperson for Fathers Forward, Inc.
