I had a super bowl party at my house that year. I remember literally everyone left in the 3rd quarter. Granted they all had young kids and needed to get them home, it was understandable, "The game was more or less over." As they slapped me on the back and headed out the door, I was left there on my couch alone, lifelong Pats fan, sitting in disbelief watching this blowout... My neighbor (A Dolphins Fan) came back in 4th quarter after he got kids to bed, grinning ear to ear as he watched the Patriots he hated so much get destroyed!! Beer wasn't doing it anymore, It was time for Whiskey. As the game unfolded, I couldn't sit, I was pacing back and fourth, They scored, FUMBLE!!! then scored again, "The Edelman CATCH"..."they might actually do it, OMG they might F***ing do this." 12-28, 20-28, 26-28, 2 point conversion... HOLY SHIT 28-28... coin toss..... NE gets ball.... We both look at each other, he says "god I hate them, but I would be lying if I didn't admit Brady is the most clutch player to ever play this game, its over, they are going to win." Finally I sat down and watched the final drive of the game in peace. God what an Epic night! Thanks for coming back Mike and sharing that moment with me! #Legendary

I believe the Santonio Holmes catch was the biggest in the Steelers Cards SB because essentially won the game. More on the receiver first making the catch and somehow keeping his feet in and for a td. Great throw by Roethlisberger also putting the vall over three defenders where only his guy could make the play. People forget Holmes dropped a potentual TD pass the pkay before that was much easier. The Edelmon catch was great and Tyree even better but that play was as much or more about Manning's incredible escape of a sack and getting the pass off.

I am from Everett Massachusetts(the first city you hit as you go north of Boston) and I left my brother's Super Bowl party to walk to the convenience store 4 blocks away. I was pissed at the Patriots for losing the way they were. When I left the score was 28 to 9. So I walked to the store and puffed a doobie to perhaps make me feel better. As I was walking back smoking my joint i kept on hearing cheering from the houses I passed, and I said to myself "I wonder what's up"?? My phone rang shortly thereafter and it was my cousin calling from my brother's house telling me the Patriots had just tied up the game at 28 to 28. I thought he was fcking with me. He assured me he was not!! I then started to run back to my brother's house. I got there as they were doing the coin toss, and the rest is history😊

@scottb30349 ай бұрын
@@lvxtu3472 Tom's SB success is the product of his defense and his kicker. Montana has more SB MVPs than Brees and Peyton combined. More MVPs than Brees and as many combined MVPs as Peyton (and Peyton absolutely did not deserve the MVP in the Colts SB win). Montana himself was the highest rated QB in history by the NFL itself..... he was only behind Jerry Rice, Giants LT and Jim Brown (granted it was before Brady won his last few SB). Montana did this all in about 10 effective years. He didn't have 20 years of the greatest system in NFL history for plugging and playing players to back him up. Montana could have won 6 super bowls playing for Belichick and that Patriots factory. I can guarantee he wouldn't have blown either Super Bowl vs the Giants...I mean Montana won all 4 of the Super Bowls he played in. Joe's biggest flaw was durability. Tom Brady: Won his first 3 Super Bowls by 9 combined pts. Each time Adam Viniateri kicked the game winner...the Patriots defense held the Greatest Show on Turf to 17 pts and held the Eagles Offense (with TO and McNabb) to 21. Scored 14 pts IN A LOSS to the NYG and lost out on a perfect season (that's a minus against him)...a team that was averaging like 36 pts a game and had beaten said Giants that season. Lost again to the Giants and scored only 17 this time. Seattle gifted him this Super Bowl by throwing an interception at the 1 yard line (defense once again bailing Tom out). ATL--I'll give him his due on this one. This is the 1st one so far he actually won himself with no help from the defense really. Tom played pretty good against Philly as well, defense failed him. Rams part II: Only the lowest scoring SB ever. Tom mustered 13 pts...but could have won with only 6 since his defense held the Rams to 3. Not really the performance of the GOAT. And Bucs super bowl: Thank the Chiefs for not having any OL to protect Mahomes and the defense eating the Chiefs alive. Tom did play statistically well. So that's about 3 SB out of the 10 he played in where he was the MVP or driving force of it. Three total....He had as many in a 20 year span that Joe had in a 10 year span except Joe won his and Brady didn't. Tom should be sending million dollar gifts to his defense and Adam V every year for the rest of his life for their humongous aid in his legacy. It isn't just about statistics on a resume, context has to be added.

The most impressive thing about New England is how Belichick makes adjustments at halftime...time and time again, I've seen them getting handled in the first half only to come out and look like a different team. He could be down 50 points and still come out as calm as can be, knowing they still have a chance, it's really amazing to watch him coach...as much as I hate the pats, I gotta admit that coach is one of the best
@dirtybirdfan165 жыл бұрын
Totally agree. I'm a Falcons fan and kept saying to not count the Patriots out once the Falcons jumped out to a huge lead. I knew the Pats would do everything they could to keep the Falcons offense off the field in the second half; and they did exactly that to perfection. The Falcons offense was amazing when they were on the field, but the defense couldn't get off the field in the second half. Even with that said, every Falcons fan I know screamed WTF when they decided to throw the ball after Julio's catch rather than run the ball and kick the winning field goal. Didn't they learn anything after watching the Seahawks mistake?
@freshdirty275 жыл бұрын
But he came out and said he made no adjustments in this game.. the only thing that changed from the first half was the tom brady checked down the entire half which led to white having 14 receptions that unheard of for a running back.. Atlanta has no choice but to adjust to cover the running back which opened the middle of the field row Jew Edelman otherwise Atlanta shut there offense down.. The patriots just ran the 2 min offense all half that’s why the won..

@@nikes4444 The amount of work to script the NFL would be 10 times more expensive and difficult making it not even worth it, not to mention there's never been a leak. What's more, like the other guy said, the script is TERRIBLE. The viewership is waaaay down. Heads should be rolling. Not only have some of the biggest games been a total bore, **Cough** Super Blow 53 **Cough,** but having the Patriots win 1/3 of all the Super Bowls, and be in 1/2 of all the Super Bowls in the last 18 years is KILLING the sport. AND I'M A PATS FAN! In an ideal world for the NFL, in terms of monetizing fan bases and harvesting viewership based ad revenue, you'd have 8 *NEW* teams in the playoffs, every year. Then, you'd only have 1 team win the Super Bowl every 32 years. That way, the _most_ possible football fans per region could be enticed into viewing the sport. Do you think Cleveland and Detroit have nearly as many fans as they could? How about the Bills, Dolphins, and Jets? All teams with historic and notable eras or players, (for the Bills more painful for the rest) but do you think those teams have gained as many _new_ fans as they could have, in the last 18 years, given that the patriots CRUSH the division, draining all life and hope form those fan bases? The Pats, I would argue, are partly to blame for the decline in NFL viewership. I could come up with far more interesting and elaborate scripts, that would make far more dynamic and engaging regional story lines and narratives, creating mini dynasties and rivalries and peppering them around the country, to make Americans feel like every team truly had a chance, so everyone would wanna watch. Who, outside of New England, not even the largest market, wants to see nothing but the Pats shit on peoples hopes and dreams, year in and year out? It's demoralizing, and it is financial suicide.

@John M I agree and to be honest these offensive coordinators are way smarter than I will ever be about the game. But in the Navy we have this expression "nuking it" whenever someone makes something simple much harder than it needs to be. I just don't understand a 7 step drop when you are already in field goal range or throwing an inside slant on the goal line when you have time for a few plays and one of the best physical running backs in the league who damn near broke enough tackles to get into the end zone on the previous play. Maybe Belichick just intimidates other coaches so they feel they need to be unpredictable. But mental mistakes notwithstanding you have to give the Patriots their due. If you give them even a crack of daylight they can steal the game and they had to make several gutty plays to win this game. I was really impressed with Tom Brady's focus and the fact they never gave up even after going down 28-3 midway through the 3rd quarter. In my opinion many teams lack the mental fortitude to keep their heads in the game after so many things go wrong, but the Patriots kept coming until they finally broke through. Easily one of the best playoff comebacks of all time. I would rank it up there with the Bills comeback with Frank Reich against the Oilers.

Am from Everett Massachusetts(the first city you hit as you go north of Boston) and I was watching this game at my brother's house with a bunch of other azzholes and left in disgust to walk to the convenience store about 4 blocks away. When I left the score was 28 to 9. So as I was walking back and smoking a doobie I kept on hearing cheering from the houses as walked back and said to myself "I wonder what's up with all that"?? Shortly thereafter as I was walking back and puffing, I got a call from my cousin who informed me that the Patriots had just tied up the game 28 to 28. I thought he was fcking with me. He assured he was not!! Then all the cheering from the houses I was walking past made sense. I then started to run back to my brother's house and saw the coin toss to go into overtime. And we'll, the rest is history @jeffreyturner2791😊
