Anyone else here remember the feeling of watching Trey sit in on this back when he got sober and we were all like "omg he's back" and we all cried? No? Just me?

Cry every time I watch it. Trey literally stepped out of his grave in that performance.. he wasn't confident, and Dave and Boyd encouraged him to keep playing, and it was like the sunrise. I cried during this performance on Sunday as well. How far he's come, and how blessed we are he took care of himself.

Okay so I've never seen Trey with Dave, and...wait a minute. I was at Bonnaroo 04. Jesus...I truly do not remember if I saw that set or not. I don't think so. Ween and The Dead I remember. Trey I def remember if that was symphony year. Anyway, I came to comment that in my limited experience, never being a huge DMB fan, I agree that this may be the greatest collaboration. I can hardly believe that solo!

@@illuminotmereloaded6896 Roo 04’ was one of the most lawless gatherings I’ve ever personally experienced/seen in my entire life. It was unbelievable. I was on mushrooms for 3/4 of the weekend and only remember the super good sets, which was basically everything. Dead sets were unreal. Saw Umphreys late night that > into MOE. playing with them for two hours. Truly one of the best weekend ever. A huge shame what the festival turned into to now. You couldn’t pay me to go anywhere near the area now.
@illuminotmereloaded68962 ай бұрын
@@sadboi7537 It turned into a mudfest, and then Coventry was even worse. I must have seen that Dave/Trey set. I know I caught at least one Waste. Hey Bulldog. I should remember that, but I don’t. I remember leaving The Dead’s set to catch Ween in the tent around midnight as it was starting to rain. That was a stellar Ween show. One of my favorites. Rivals that LOCKN 2016 first night show. As far as festival shows go, those two are up there. I know I caught Gillian Welch and David Byrne played Born Under Punches I’m pretty sure. I know I caught a Moe day set. Must have been at this one. It was a great fest. My first Bonnaroo. Then I did 05 and 07.

@micklagger80818 күн бұрын
I think I caught a few of those shows in Cali right after I had moved out there from South Carolina. It was just b4 both bands blew up (esp out there) and DMB was actually the opener with maybe an hour long set while Phish headlined playing a standard 2 set/encore show. They were still playing relatively small arenas at UC Davis and Chico and I think San Jose State. Practically none of the heads I was hanging around with listened to or had even heard of Phish, much less DMB and I actually won tickets on the radio (because noone else cared enough to call in lol) for the San Jose show and I ended up taking the train solo from Berkeley. So fucking worth it. Somehow I was able to talk this "older chick" (mid to late 20s with a car and good looking, which at the time, "the good old days", was somewhat scarce in my circle lol. I was 18 or 19🙄) into driving up to Davis and we had so much fun we didn't go back to the city that night but got a room and rolled on up to Chico the next day. Good times 😂 I originally just thought I'd chime in my agreement to your post but hey, thanks for letting me be that old guy babbling on trying to relive his glory days with an exaggerated and mundane story only vaguely related to your comment that in actuality impressed zero peoples. But yeah, all downhill from there lol 😂

I wish TR would take notes.. I love TR, but this is how you play guitar with soul, feel, and purpose. It doesn't need to be the most complicated technical thing all the time, and building up to a crescendo is tasteful...not just playing at one volume the entire time.
