Relocating to Guernsey - Day 1

Leaving Birmingham for the island of Guernsey. Travel day.
Day 1 is actually 2 days in one. Got the train to Southampton and spent the night in the Premier Inn at the airport.
The following morning, Sherilee came to see me off and bring me a McDonalds as there was no restaurant at the hotel and nothing was open in the airport to get food and drink either.
After a short delay and a FULL PLANE (no social distancing was observed at all with every seat taken!) I flew the short 25 minute journey to Guernsey, overflying Sark and Herm on the way in.
Baggage reclaim took ages as they were queuing people in a line 10 at a time around the belt, and the filling in of forms for the new 7 day isolation trial meant another half an hour wait on top.
So got met at the airport by one of the drivers who picked me up in a minibus and rushed me to the hotel where I will be staying locked in the room for at least a week.
I should get COVID-19 tested on the 7th day of self isolating, and if I get a negative result will be allowed into the staff accommodation where I will be spending the next few years.
