Loved REM in the 80s and with the exception of Automatic for the People do not like any of there stuff in the 90s and 2000s.

They got old and made some mediocre releases along the way, I swear if they stopped making music after document they would've been in the same position as husker du and the smiths, but then we wouldn't have automatic for the people so...

A shame it took so long for them to hit big. Experts consider their first two albums to be their best. I’ve listened to at least 12 of their albums and “Reckoning” is my favorite

@DarkDavie I play the main part with my fingers holding down the seventh frets on the B and G strings, with the high E ringing out...the rest is hard to explain...Peter's arpeggiating is quite elaborate! It's mainly those 3 notes, with the variations of playing the 3rd fret on the high E (quite a stretch! he's probably moving his finger up to the 8th fret on the B string to get that same G note) then the 5th fret on High E. Hope this is of some help! Definitely one of his stranger riffs!

If anyone (especially Chout) is interested in learning to play this, I've figured it out. I'll try to post a video. Tune the high "e" string down to a "D" just like in the song prior (Gardening at Night). The original Passaic video has a little more clarity, so you can really see PB's finger (as opposed to just his hand) positions.

What is the name of this song? I'm a bit embarrassed that I don't recognize it.
