This show is Wien (Vienna) 1998. The Passenger song of this show is not easy to find. I saw it once on youtube but now it is gone. Maybe copyright problem. :)

REM can cover who the hell they like.The band wrote the lyric "I wanna be Iggy Pop" that was in 94.They have released a live version of Passenger from this tour and played the song throughout 98 live, there are other flawless clips of the band doing Passenger.REM also covered Funtime & I wanna be your dog,Point, REM always paid respect to the songs they covered. They recorded an album with the Troggs when they were covering their songs. Fuck me if they didn't write Wild Thing. REM do covers, fucking loads of them, It is like an education of rock influences for those like me who look at the nod of respect that is given by REM to music that inspired themselves.

Although I saw REM several times "live" and I love several of the songs they introduced, I never (in the 1990ths) realized that they loved this song. It's "the song of my life. To me the REM-Version is 75%(+) but I like it. - REALLY!
