@@tuck295q Deserted Island already came back in Portable 3rd and Generations/Ultimate. And it was good enough even without underwater, and if they could make a map like Flooded Forest work. So can those, but I would say I would want an Ancestral Steppe map so I could recreate the scene from 4U cinematic.

When I've been there the first time in MHR I had that weird sensation of "dejavu", then the Wiki confirmed it was a map from MH3 Tri, I was so happy, it was my first MH game

I cannot fully describe the joy I felt when I got here in Rise. I knew that the Flooded forest was getting revamped, but I had NO CLUE that the Sandy plains and the Volcano were also getting face lifts. I started getting excited as I started to recognize the first area, and the more I went around the more familiar things felt. It made me want to cry, it was such a nice surprise. Thank you Capcom.

i haven't played a lot of 3U as a kid but when i first entered the desert i rise i felt like something was familiar. especially the dead tree at the chest and the rhenoplos in the first area reminded me of something

I realized that was a remake after I entered area 4 and it looked so familiar haha :D Whole start looked familiar and I was suspecting but after some trip it came instantly to my mind :D

I second this! I didn't realize the name was "Sandy Plains" and even then, I still had my doubts. Thanks for this indeed cause now I know that TWO nostalgia-filled locales were reborn in Rise, and they look GLORIOUS!

@@ChipsCST I started with MHTri too so I have a special space for 3rd gen maps in my heart :D I spend hundreds of hours in there :) First hit when I realized that Rise Sandy Plains is literally THAT Sandy Plains was like huge "woooaaaah!" It's 5th day after I'm playing Rise and everytime I have to go to Sandy or Flooded I feel the same excitement :D

im gonna be honest, I kind of hate how the maps look in rise, they bleached everything into one or two colors, it looks crusty, the global illumination took heavy hits, the textures are kind of stinky to look at, and by and far almost every sector of the visual department is a downgrade in terms of art direction. But I was dumbfounded with how well they adapted the old maps structurally for seamless loading. The areas all miraculously feels the same where they tried to actually remake them, and THAT is extremely hard to do and extremely impressive.

I think that Sandy Plains has the best coloring in whole Rise. I agree that most of the maps looks pale or like sewers :V Generally color blending sucks XD The art direction took right direction but changed something in this. I like how they try to mix World and Old gen styles. But the only problems here are the colors :/ Thankfully on PC we will be able to make correction through mods

Thank you, unfortunately there are only these 2 maps that are remade. I'm thinking about different kind of videos :) At this moment I'm hunting Rathalos from MHG (Expanded MH1) to MH Rise through 8 games. And I'm wondering about putting all 8 at once as 8 windows in the video or to make some kind of mix but I'm not too good at this xd
