Amen! Every committed follower of Jesus needs to get motivated, trained, and empowered to get on this!!!

I've noticed that the hardest people to reach are not the ones far away, but the people around us who have heard of the gospel but have chosen to not accept it or have become stenchly opposed to it.

Tim and Becky, I watched the FP groups video again...be encouraged that I hope to have it shown to our church's Sunday night "FUSION group" 300 between ages of 18-35, since they meet on line, they are more likely to accept such a short presentation. Greg Livingstone

I love the emphasis on going to the most needy places! That's why I serve in Europe. Interestingly, this video suggests such a minor difference between 'followers of Jesus' and 'other Christians' that it looks like Europe doesn't have much need at all. But I would urge us to think more about access to the gospel than access to the name of Jesus. Millions and millions of souls hang eternally on the difference between the two. You see, the 'other Christians' in Europe remain under God's wrath. They might believe somewhat like this video suggests, that we 'followers of Jesus' just have a 'deeper faith', and sadly, they're often happy just to admire us for that. That is exactly the urgency we face here in Europe. The line between 'follower of Jesus' and 'other Christian' or 'nominal Christian' has been blurred to a mere scale of degree. But the Bible says the line between saving faith and nominal faith is "a great chasm" (Luke 16), on opposite sides there are slaves to sin and slaves to righteousness (Romans 6), children of wrath and children of God (Ephesians 1 and 1 John 3), those born only of the flesh and those born of the Spirit (John 1), a lake of fire and a holy city (Revelation 21), life and death (John 5), darkness and marvelous light (1 Peter 2). This video makes it seem easy to "renew the faith of other Christians", but I assure you, it is not easy to convert someone who thinks they're a Christian. And those "other Christians" are definitely not sharing the saving gospel with "culturally-near non-believers". We can find spiritual need everywhere, to be sure. But I'm not merely saying that Europe has deep need or that there's room for work. I'm saying the continent as a whole has far, far less exposure to the saving message of Jesus than the video suggests, and that this false scale of 'deeper faith' is exactly what keeps Europeans from eternal life. I'm not content with the false assurance of a false gospel being proclaimed here in Europe, and neither are the other 270+ Pioneers missionaries who serve here. We see glimpses of the great chasm every day as we interact with 'other Christians' who are not Christians at all. So to answer the question, where should you go if you want somewhere with the "fewest Christ followers", Europe is a great option.

Can someone explain to me why the culturally-near non-believers' percentage in China is so high?

Does walking past a rusty old cross on ones way to work in France mean a person has had “access” to or heard the gospel?
@rjwl555 жыл бұрын
France has some 500,000 evangelicals, and 2500 evangelical churches, with 2-3 new ones planted each month (according to the French National Association of Evangelicals). Recent studies have shown an evangelical church exists within a 30 minute drive of any location in France. Bibles in modern French are widely available. All of these show significantly greater access to the Gospel than people in "unreached people groups" or the "Frontier People Groups."

@@rjwl55 Thanks for your reply. The Lord of the Harvest sends workers where He wills. My contention with the video is that it treats world evangelism as a zero sum effort... e.g. if we stop sending to workers to places where there are 'cultural christians' then we can send workers to where the greater need is. The term cultural christian doesn't mean a lot in post-christendom Europe. The video gives to the understanding that a cultural christian is a gospel messenger. But, in reality, many cultural Christians are effectively 'inoculated' to the Gospel. Hey, I'm not criticizing your efforts at raising awareness. We should all be passionate about promoting the needs of the peoples God has called us to. I just don't think that means playing down needs in other fields.

@@curreyinfrance I think you might appreciate the information in the Missions Frontiers magazine from last year. Here is a PDF: www.missionfrontiers.org/pdfs/MF40-6_Nov-Dec_eBook.pdf

@@curreyinfrance Our intention was to put the responsibility on the born-again Christians in the "reached people groups" to reach out both to the "cultural Christians" around them and the non-believers within their own people groups. Should believers from other countries and languages have to come to America to reach MY neighbors? In fact, the USA receives the MOST missionaries from other countries of any country (32,000). That said, we are not calling for re-deployment so much as new mobilization for the least-reached people groups (the Frontier People Groups).

Rebecca Lewis let’s just say I’m glad neither you nor I are the Lord of the Harvest... mobilizing is not a zero sum game and if He sends 10 Chinese to France to revive a dying church I’m good with that

There are several million school children in china that had bible teaching for weeks this year. The growth there is extensive.. Where are you getting your research from? Would you please cite the date of your data and source information. The video is well done, but becomes more credible with notation of data sources.

What is achieved by such conversion, any progress of human kind, nothing. One should leave to oneself, to practice or not to practice any religion Etc. Stop this nonsensical, non productive evangelization .
@Ms3007053 жыл бұрын
@parijatha, you must have a wrong concept of Christianity. The Gospel of Jesus is the power of God that bring salvation to everyone who believes. Jesus Christ didn't start a religion but He is preaching a reconciliatory message of God the Creator to His creation who has been separated from Him because of sin. He wants you to be reconciled to Him because He loves you. You cannot save yourself from the power of sin and death. Jesus has already paid the penalty for our sin on the cross so that we can be set free from the power of sin and be reconciled back to God. NO more sacrifices to be made to be saved. It is already paid. People should know that their sins are already paid on the cross. All they have to do is believe and receive Jesus into their heart that Jesus died for our sin and rose again to give us new life. It is ordained for man to die once and after that judgment. It is this eternal judgment or damnation that Jesus eternally saved us from. For God so loved the world that He sent His only begotten son that whoever believes on Him will not perish but have eternal Life. God bless you.
