STORYLINE:
The remains of the popular Dutch queen mother, Juliana, were taken by horse-drawn hearse along a 13-kilometer (8-mile) route lined by more than 9-thousand members of the Dutch military on Tuesday.
Her coffin will be laid in the 400-year-old royal vault of the Nieuwe Kerk, or New Church, in Delft, alongside her parents, Queen Wilhelmina and Prince Hendrik.
On Monday municipal workers towed away cars and cut bicycle locks to clear the road where the flower-bedecked carriage passed.
Among the royalty from 15 countries attending the funeral are Prince Philip of Britain, King Juan Carlos and Queen Sofia of Spain, Queen Noor of Jordan, King Albert of Belgium and Prince Akishino and Princess Kiko of Japan.
As was her wish, Juliana''s funeral service will be led by a 60-year-old female pastor, Welmet Hudig-Semeijns de Vries van Doesburgh.
The Resident Bach Orchestra and Choir will play music by French composer Erik Satie.
Despite his poor health, Juliana''s husband Bernhard, 92, is expected to attend the ceremony.
The German-born prince has undergone more than 50 operations in recent years and the Royal Palace had said last week his poor health could keep him from the service.
Juliana, called the people''s queen because of her charity work and her distaste for royal trappings, saw the Dutch through the end of its colonial rule in Asia and the reconstruction of the Netherlands after the end of the Nazi occupation.
