I think adding some sort of mist and then blood splatters on the walls would have sold it even more (easier said than done). But it still freakin looks incredible.

I think one more improvement you could have done apart from blood stains on the wall is use of bright light in the corridor. Because blood looks really good in bright light rather than dim light. It captures the shine of the blood really well.

This is rad. Well done. I did the same thing a few years back, and I just couldn't match the film's blood either. These sims take so long to iterate on it's nuts. Your sim looks great. And the set looks great.

Texture that maybe is effected by a particle system that paints blood on the wall? TBH a quick fix would be to paint several textures. That get added in slowly at the peak of the blood washing up. It can even be done mostly from the view port in texture paint mode so as to not waste time on spots not seen.

I like the fact that it was a scene done with both practical and Cgi. They used the Cgi for enhancement i think primarily for the bottom part, the bit that sprayed up was the actual practical effect with... I dont remember, some kinda fluid. Might've been pig blood? I dont remember.

While I did like the CGI one for the splashing I do have to say that the original is better since it leaves mark on the walls and the blood is a light red, which means it’s still fresh, while yours is dark red, almost black, which means it’s dry or almost dry.
