Love it. Going to have to make one out of the carbon fibre one day. You can use shorter screws from both sides instead of using a nut. The spacer has internal threads and acts as a nut. 5mm? That looks like a 1mm thick sheet. 2mm should be strong enough yet thin enough to bend by hand or using tools

Yes you are right. That is a mistake. Should be .5mm aluminium sheet.
