I happen to be a transactional attorney and use an e ink tablet every single day. I started with a remarkable 2 and now use a Tab X and the Go 10.3 instead. The main reason is email access. Clients always need to sign documents and the ability to get a pdf into an email or mark up a document and send it out on the boox platform without juggling outside cloud access is the sole feature that decides which tablet I use. If remarkable had that (and a higher resolution screen which is extremely nice to have on the Go 10.3) I would be on remarkable all day. Remarkable has a killer opportunity to simply upgrade their screen, give me email access on the device and smash the competition.

Monster comment!!!! Thanks THIS is what I discuss use case. Thanks for the input. reMarkable does watch these videos and I have one contact there. That makes sense maybe for reMarkable 3. Get your needs! Thanks!

My pleasure! Love your content and agree work flow is a hugely important factor. In case remarkable is listening, my ULTIMATE wish list is a 13.3” device with remarkable’s amazing build quality, a 300dpi screen and email access. I’d spend a small fortune for a device that does that well. The Tab X is SO close to being perfect in that respect so I wonder if BOOX will beat remarkable to the punch.

You don't even need to use the lasso. Circle to what you want to copy to AI select. Click copy icon in the task bar. Go to the other page. Touch the page with your finger and hold. A menu pops up. Click paste.

This is not working for me - what are you supposed to turn on? Circle Mark? I am using NEO Reader with the PDF. I can't get it to work. So non-intuitive LOL I only have Shape Perfection - Circle Mark - Scribing Mark, Scribling Erase, Double Tap Reconition, Turn Pages with stylus. What a frustrating device. Just make the damn lasso work. LOL I can't get it to work back to the rM - man I wish I had 20 hours a day to dial it in about just broke it.

I can't get it to work? Maybe in Notes but not on the interactive PDF - weird. I have to find a video, which is exactly what I don't have time for, taking away from writing my next chapter.

Great to have you back!!! I still love my Boox Note 3. I put in the time to figure out how to get the device just how I wanted it...and then forgot about all that stuff because it just works. BUT I am right there with you about the copy and paste. It is brutal how such a basic task is so clunky and to be honest...it is just clunky enough that I stopped habit tracking and other things I really want to do. Thanks for emphasizing that point.

I have a Remarkable and a Boox device, and I totally agree with you. RM is much more user-friendly, and I prefer to use it daily (and especially when I am very busy). Boox offers many options and features, but it is a good example of "more is less."

I was going to tear into it ass hole til I read this comment lol. I to own a air3 C and it's not for everyone. BIG BUT, wouldn't you rather have a do it all e-reader than not. For example I use script3 calculator where you just write down math like apple and it calculates. Invaluable when talking about work flow my guy. Yea u say I can do that on my iPad, sure but imaging that calculation waiting on ur desk for 3 to 4 days. like paper just stays on and you continue working. iPad CANNOT do that's lol. And that's just ONE application I agree Boox is frustrating, with comparison because I don't own a remarkable. But I would want anything else son!!! ❤❤❤ Watch @whatphoto review channel Boox review today!!!🎉🎉🎉❤❤❤

It all depends on your workflow, and how well a given device fits it. reMarkable does some things very well, but it definitely has its quirks and feature gaps. For example, if you are one to annotate and mark-up documents, you can do so on a reMarkable 2, but there is (shockingly) no way to filter a document to show only pages you have scribbled on. There are work-arounds; you can "tag" every page you write on and search for the tagged pages later, but you should not need to take this extra, manual step when virtually every other tablet out there (Boox included) has an easy and automatic way to view annotated pages. This is one of many ways reMarkable 2 has left me wanting, all the more frustrating because it could be fixed with a simple software update to bring it up to par with the competition, and because I do have uses for the rM2 which it executes better than others.

Thanks for another great video JB! I have a question for you 😁! It might be unanswerable. I am curious if you ever wonder if you had reversed the order of when you received these devices if your answer would be different? For example if you had spent years using Boox first then hoped pber to ReMarkable 2 - would ReMarkable have seemed less intuitive because you were less familiar with the system? Does that question make sense? 😅 I am curious if you think that you had spent more time with Boox if you would still sit down with the less familiar ReMarkable 2 and consider it to still be more intuitive? This is a pretty hypothetical question and likely not answerable 😅. I don't personally use Boox notes enough to know whether it seems intuitive - I usually use these android tablets like the Bigme Inknote Color as my reader while using the ReMarkable 2 as my main note taker - but I've wondered if I had spent as much time note taking on Boox or Bigme if I would then feel a bit lost with ReMarkable software. Supernote might fit this question better as it is lilely more similar to ReMarkable 2 - do you find you prefer ReMarkable to supernote because you have spent more time with it, rather than it being that ReMarkable is superior to supernote?
@julieparadise9694
@julieparadise9694 Ай бұрын
You question is totally valid: As a *1980 = middle-aged mom-person I have spent so much of my computer-upbringing with clunky Windows software that Apple's OS wasn't intuitive for me at all. I still don't like it, even though I know my way around after having to use it at work for years. So, probably because of this Windows-way-of-thinking I vastly prefer the cluttered Boox UI that lets me customize almost everything to Remarkable's proclaimed "simple" UI that I find patronizing in all its restrictions. This doesn't represent simplicity or minimalism to me but limitation of what I need to do to actually get my work done. (I have or had devices of all these makers: Kindle Scribe, Remarkable, Boox, and Supernote, and I got rid of the RM2 only.)

Gray Video as usual!!will you be making a dates planner for the Boox? I love the Remarkable but found it limited when Exporting and integrating into my PARA PKM. I uspex the I’ll fix the copy a pasting shortly with a software update. I need a simple Eink device than has stronger export options. Do you honk this is the ticket? I have an IPAD but don’t like the Writing “feel” ..

Hey hey yes the planner works on the BOOX - we are doing major updates for 2025 - I think the BOOX will work with you as you seem to have the organization for it and the patience for set up. It is a great device, with some limitations just because it is trying to do a lot. I have not had experience with PARA PKM and will ask some of the community here. But with Android, it does open up more possibilities. It is a great device, just some bugginess if that makes sense, and if bugginess is a word. LOL

Many users of the Boox GO 10.3 are saying that it's NOT possible to save your NOTES files onto an attached SD card instead of the cloud service. Is that true? If it is, then I'm sending the Boox I ordered back immediately. I do NOT want my files stored in the cloud.

Boox is producing excellent task-focussed KZbin shorts that talk to many of these issues, but not everyone knows about them, and they aren’t catalogued in a way that is easy for most people to access. My feeling is that Boox’ development team needs to put more effort into technical documentation, especially for users outside of China. There are other, easier ways to connect a chunk of handwriting to a planner on the Go 10.3, but too many of us are left to figure it out for ourselves, just as JB was struggling to do in this video.

Great points. I LOVE the device, but I hate it at the same time. I am with you. It sits on my desk as we speak and I rarely open it. I do use the BOOX Tab Ultra - I think just sheer size, but ONLY the notetaking on it for my shows. Hopefully, they read this comment is a great one.

the price difference in germany is insane. boox go 10.3 +case+pen+nibs is 420 EUR. rm2, with simplest pen and case, is 540, and with better accessories easily hits 650. for a device this old, that is prohibitively expensive considering remarkable has abandoned hand-writers and is almost solely pushing support for the keyboard case, while not fixing bugs that have been around for ages and refusing to add features (wonky sync, email support, geometric shapes, etc). let alone the anti aliasing and blackness levels when exporting a document. exports often look terrible from the remarkable. so my next device will probably be a boox.

@MorningCoach So how do you like being able to load custom templates, and not worry about an update smashing all your custom templates? Or How about not having to fool with emailing a filled in custom template just to get it out of the device and into the rest of the world. I also have the rm2, but it has SO MANY frustration points, I can't wait to get a Go 10.3 and not have to worry about whether my custom templates are gonna work, and work SIMPLY. What loader / updater do you use to get your stuff into the rm2. I see your copy / paste issue, but man that is such a small worry for me in comparison to all the software issues that reMarkable just flatly refuses to address. IMHO Jest say'in
@morningcoach
@morningcoach 8 күн бұрын
Wow, I have no issues. I use PDF and the rM uploader, and I have zero frustrations with templates. So far, 20,000 people have downloaded our planner. We are getting the number on rMs, but none of our users have that issue. You need more functionality, and the BOOX is probably your go-to. Just FYI, in our coaching structure, people are taking a picture of the planner and sending it to our reader, who then sends updates to the users, so we are not emailing the planner for our AI interpretations. We are doing some major updates for 2025. We use cut-and-paste daily with all of our people, so it is a killer for us. But one of the reasons we do these videos is they are watching, so maybe Boox fixes that, and rM helps you with your issues. Again, I ONLY use my rM for Planner and Notes. I use my m4 iPad for everything else and Apple Notes and Google Notes for my Second Brain. Solid comment - thank you!

LOL, did you watch the video? Why do you need all that other "stuff"? It is a distraction. I have an iPad already. The copy-and-paste doesn't even work. Most people buying e-ink don't want anything you have mentioned. I get it; you bought the device. I have them all, too, and use my rM daily, as in the video, and my iPad M4. The Boox is a good device with major software flaws. Just read the comments below. There's no need to be pompous. You call me clueless, really? Why are you adding to the darkness of the web as someone who is supposed to be "existential"? It really comes off as trolling instead of professional. Just give us your take. As a "professional engineer," you don't get other people to do other things. I get to work 2 - 4 hours a week and live in Chicago, Colombia, and Florida. Working on my pilot's license and buying my first plane. I don't have time for software issues. Heading to the golf course as I type this. But I had to respond: Good luck with your "engineering." Maybe one day, you will learn about different people with different needs; some emotional intelligence can go a long way. We are all trying to put some good energy out there.... just be cool; it isn't that hard.

The fact that so many agree that the flaw exists just shows how wrong you are. And as for the personal comments you really need to chill ;)
