reMarkable Planner Templates

Learning something new everyday in LAYERS you can change the template per page on the reMarkable. Thanks to Cobey for pointing that out!!!! This is huge, and didn't even know you could it is under LAYERS so you can have multiple templates in the document. Thanks Cobey - I told you the best subscribers out there!!!! so it is possible to combine week template with following 7 day templates and again week template and goin on, nice :) i checked out yesterday how to make templates for your own, they are just png files and could be found on "/usr/share/remarkable/templates/" there you could copy your own made too - but you need SSH Access to the folder more here: remarkablewiki.com/tips/templates

To clarify. You can change templates on a per page basis. You can also copy notebooks. That means you can create a notebook that is, itself, a template of ordered pages of different types. The way many planners are.

Hi JB, Great video and thank you! I recently saw a video tutorial on KZbin showing how to design and side-load your own templates on RM...but spending a few bucks on professionally designed seems like the way to go. Thanks for the great tip!

Hi there! Love the work you are doing! Quick question or idea: I've been having difficulties with planning on a daily basis and bringing this planning back to weekly goals and bringing those weekly goals back to monthly goals and so to yearly goals. So i think it would be awesome if you could have a template on which you can select the YEAR, template zooms in on all months within the year for which you can set goals or plan larger goals. NEXT you select a month, the tablet zooms in on all weeks within that month for which you make more drilled down goals and actions. NEXT you select a week, which zooms in on all days within the week for which you can plan how you will achieve your weekly goals. NEXT you click on DAY and it zooms in on the day with all your daily tasks, errands, focus time, and dedicated time to work on your weekly goals. Hope you understand where I'm getting at? It would make planning and achieving long term goals way easier, wouldnt it? Have a great day, Br, Janick

That is really cool, maybe one of the manufacturers that read these threads will jump on here. You know I built a journal from my book the Sacred 6 that was on paper. @@morningcoach Yes exactly! Hopefully they do, I would want to create something like it for myself but I just don't know where to start and what the most efficient way would be to create such an app? But yea, my opinion is: focus on your strenghts and let others who are better at these things do it for you, so hopefully someone sees the merit in such an application or template and creates it for any device out there. The problem with adding templates is one must be comfortable with SSH and command-line type of manipulation. I am ok with that but most people will feel blocked from adding templates. I believe every time the OS is updated the user added templates get blown away. Which means each time there is an update the templates have to be added again. reMarkable needs to offer a gui level template process.

Hi all. A couple of questions the STAEDTLER 180 22 Noris digital EMR Stylus in Pencil Shape can that be used for the remarkable 2? Secondly the initial setup allows written language Danish, does that mean it can recognize handwritten danish or is it for the keyboard layout? The tamplates, were can I get a template done or do I need further tools to do it on my own? Thanks.

Great question no the only ones on the Papyr are the lines and squares, but really easy bringing in the with the Papyr - thanks for asking :)

Hello from a fellow golfer and recent purchaser of the R2! A couple thoughts/questions: 1) why has reMarkable not made these templates that seem very basic available (templates for day planner, to do lists, etc). Seems crazy that you spend close to $500 and not get some very basic templates. 2) can we create our own small community where we can share templates with this group?

Hey hey the rM2 company is a little weird - if you look on FB there are some groups that share stuff, people even hacking it. It is a great device, but the CSR is really different....

Thank you for the info. I am a business owner and also do sales. I carry around a sales receipt book that allows me to write a quick sales / delivery receipt for my customer and provides me with a copy as well. However, my fear is if one day this book is lost or misplaced prior to entering in our QuickBooks software that days sales receipts may be lost or forgotten. Can graphics like my logo be imported and placed into a sales receipt PDF. Logo not a deal breaker. The ability to write over a template , convert to type and email immediately. Would be awesome. I made a custom template to use for my work. I was able to make it, load it, open it, and use it. However, sometimes if I erase something, it will not show that it is erased, and I will exit the template and then open it again to see the writings erased. Sometimes it fails to return to the screen if I open the sidebar. When closing the sidebar, it will stay black where the bar was until I close it and then open it again. Lastly, when I open the app on the computer or my phone, the text is visible, but the template is not. It says "Unable to load document background. Try restarting your application or contact support if the problem persists". Any idea of why this is? Other OEM templates work fine otherwise.

Man I am not sure, I have had issues with the templates in the past when I have updated the software so I only use the standard ones that come with it. :( Sorry I can't help more.

If you choose a daily calendar can you switch back and forth to other views and will the information be on the other views for example day view to week view data showing on both calendars

as you download or build your own templates, they have to be reloaded everytime you download/update your firmware. Is that correct?

Hello JB One thing I noticed since purchasing my RM2 is that my handwriting has deteriorated tremendously. I was wondering if you know where I can find a RM2 template that I can use that will help improve my handwriting. As a child I remember using lined paper that had lines strategically placed like guard rails to teach a consistent joined up writing. In essence looking for the same for my RM2.

@@markroe4952 Just use the PDF - that is what I do with my planner I just import it into the device and work right on it - no reason to make it a template - just use the pdf and copy pages if needed. I think that will work for you.

Roughly on 2:14h you mentioned the not changeable template's that troughs some questions in my mind. Is it possible to use different template's in one virtual notebook? So let's say first page a Picture-PDF or PNG than 4 weekly pages, than one monthly and so on? Or do I have to generate separate "files" and use the folder name and the folder it self as a notebook? I mean something like a real book i can turn the pages or is it more jump in and out through the different topics/template's? Hope you get me! Sorry for the long question, doesn't know how to describe it.

No you can do that in the Paypr and change the background on each page - only device I know does that. RM unless they change their software the whole notebook keeps the same background. -

So even if the pre-order price is hot, and the rM2 is really sexy, after some research and help from you and your great video's, the Papyr is the only device left on my list atm. @@lazyman1011 the Remarkable can have a different template on each page. Cannot combine PDFs and custom notes/templates within the same notebook. I have not seen the ability to do that on the Papyr either though. There is customizable content within the community that gives you the ability to move between documents with one button...plus let's you turn the button on his stylus into an eraser button...and other wonderful features. @@cobeyguy5532 First, thank you! Since week's I dig through reddit and co. But without having the device's to play with and mostly no info about the sf/fw-version from the actual post or vid it is so hard to compare it with my usecase that also only exist in my mind because of no tablet usage at all since now. E-ink is always a little bit slow and for me it is a no brainer to get the better pen with eraser because I hate the way of the UI to select it and also in some other places. Paper replacement looks good on any device only some bonuses like layers and undo etc. are coming on top differently. But a virtual notebook/journal/sketchbook/planer is what I'am looking for. eBook with all format's and also cbr etc for comic's should be there due to the price but is no selling point for me. But PDF can be frustrating on an e-ink device if the original book has a strange format/layout and the SW doesn't help to compensate. There are some tweaks and hacks, but I want the best out of the box experience. So I'll try to watch some more random videos from rM and Papyr and look out for the details I'am searching for.

Cobey - how do you do that? That would be awesome, once you make a notebook all my pages stay the same. Did they do a software update??? When I click new page their are no options to change where is the menu icon I am trying now and I can add a page but nowhere can I change the template? It is the same as before. Yes! Do a video on the layers while you are at it. It is a fantastic tool for a lot of different reasons. I use it daily for my PDF annotations and to-do list... If I am taking notes to share with people, I might write longer notes for myself on Layer 2. Then I just send Layer 1 via email. Same goes for my lists...anything I will need to repeat or keep listed at end of day, I out on different layer, so the eraser doesn't touch it!
