Thank you for your other comments btw 😃. When I did my first remix (GT4's Light Velocity), I was focusing on using only GT4 sounds at the time until I started making more remixes, which I ended up improving the sounds by not just relying on the GT4 sounds but using other VST's, particularly SoundCanvas, which emulates the Roland SC-88. Apart from that, too much time and patience really is all it takes lmao but I'm not getting as much time now to be doing a whole lot of new remixes.

If you have a copy of the ISO file for the game then you can use software called PSound to extract the sounds from game disc. Otherwise I'll see if I can put together a zip file with the sounds from both GT3 and GT4 and share it. As for the strings I think I used Roland SoundCanvas instead of the direct game samples as the sample quality isn't that great.

So far, I make a rough MIDI version of my remix using Mixcraft (I mostly transcribe the notes manually via mouse/keyboard because I want to transcribe the notes as accurately as possible) then I export the file as MIDI and import it into Ableton (where I can sample the GT4 sounds and use a whole lot more effects and VST's) Also I have already done Motorious Zone: kzbin.info/www/bejne/o4vWqIymq7x2gdU

Yeah I had to rearrange the game samples myself. It did take a bit of time to grab the game sounds and sample/tune them since many of the sounds are played back at different pitches (probably because of some protection from people trying to rip the sounds straight from the CD/ISO)
