"Remastering The Formula" ~ Cassette Beasts

Had this one on my wishlist as soon as it got announced and finally got around to playing it and probably in my top 5 games this year. My only "complaints" are A. can't customize my house and B. Cassette beasts 2 with hifi walkman hasn't already been announced. Though seriously, the hardest thing for monster collecting games is nailing a type of monster design that just clicks, most on display are fantastic and fusions are dope but the modular nature of fusions of typically gluing an aspect of each onto a handful of bodies are sometimes a tad less impressive than the sum of their parts. Excellent taste and great work, looking forward to future projects

A creature collector game earnestly trying to engage with me with a good story puts it so far above the rest it's insane. So many creature collectors treat the story as a supplementary aspect or worse just copy pokemon (looking at you temtem) but cassette beasts was the real shit.

Oo another comment mentioning temtem. Sounds like I may have dodged a bullet (tho I can't help but be curious....)👀. Is the story that bad?

@@Chubby_Bubby the story in temtem is meh, it's pokemon with some edge. trainers are tamers, gyms are dojos, bad guy team are terrorists. there's a big twist at the end that you will only care about if you're already familiar with pokemon plots it'd make a cool video if you ever do play it, lots to compare to other creature collector games. i look forward to that video if you ever check it out.

@dangus1422 I actually do have some plans for more monster taming videos starting next year, idk if I'll be able to fit this game in. Especially where it's a mmo and I got trash internet, but if the opportunity comes up I wouldn't be against it.

I've honestly been thinking about doing this one for awhile. The only thing I'm waiting on is whatever is going on with that recent fan peoject, if it actually pulls through I'd def make a video to go along side it. But I get the feeling Sega might shut it down due it being Kickstarter....but even if it does I do still have interest in that game.

I've actually tried the Showdown version. I thought it was kind of fun, but the artsyle isn't really for me. Haven't tried the main game tho, the mmo aspect kind threw me off tbh. How is it?
