A massive reenactment at Alamo Village in Brackettville is supposed to be in the works next year to celebrate the 175th anniversary of the Alamo.

Has anybody ever considered seeing if you could get special permission to do the Alamo Battle Reenactment at either The Alamo Village or the 2004 Movie set? That would be an awesome site to see.

Turn of the Century in Firearms tech. While Flintlocks were still common and very much still in military service many civilians had thier guns sent to gunsmiths to be turned to cap locks. Even the first cap and ball revolver, the Colt Paterson was produced in 1836 and the percussion Cap was pioneered in the 1820s.

A great many of the men at the Alamo were Mexican (the term Hispanic means you are from Spain, La Española, and was not used until the 1970's when for some reason Mexicans no longer wished to be called Mexicans. The battle of the Alamo was fought as a Mexican Civil War against Santa Anna for appointing himself dictator and doing away with the constitution of 1824. The flag flying at the Alamo was the flag of Mexico with 1824 printed across it. Texas had not declared its independence yet.

Santa Anna's dictatorship was a pretext, the total time that Santa Anna was president was 6 years in his 11 periods, he was not a dictator, he was a stupid and arrogant man. The final objective was anexation to USA.
