Okay, this is INSANE!!! I have a V-Star 1300. I had to run down to the store today and remembered watching this video yesterday, so I thought I'd give it a try. USE THIS WITH CAUTION the first time. I shifted my shoulders while cornering and my bike *_TURNED._* I mean, holy crap it turned! I even did a u-turn in the street and I think it might have been the tightest cornering I've ever done. This will cause your bike to be _super_ responsive. Freakin' amazing technique!!!

Mate, you are a star. Your vlogs and delivery are both super informative and entertaining. As a rider of 57 years and bike trainer for 20 yrs, I concur with all your advice. I especially like the one of looking both ways at junctions; all junctions including side roads. So, so important for everyone’s safety, there are too many red light runners. I send my clients and trainees to your site to watch how things are done. Even though you all ride on the wrong side of the road (ha ha), the system of bike control is the same. Thank you and be safe.

Nice bro. Maybe there should be different segments. One for track/ sport bikes, and one for big cruisers. I mean I know about counter steering, counter balancing at very low speeds, although I've found that, on my bike, the counter balancing thing, doesnt make much difference. Tried it both ways. Turning my head, has made a lot of difference. Just saying brother, I'm not worried about dragging a knee. Lol. My bike weighs 712 pounds. 1312 cc. Its awesome, I love it. Long and lean with a 34° front factory fork. I've put 1500 miles on it, I'm very cautious, but have a blast. You have given me great tips, I use them every time I ride. But, I've never contorted my body that much. Your instructions are great, guess I'm just saying it's a lot to learn. Too much info can get confusing. I stay on nice backroads, practice everything u mention. And practice definitely helps. Have taken 3 courses, probably over 100 hours online instruction. It all helps, guess I'm just from the KISS school. Not the band, lol. Thanks man. You've been a blessing.
@MotoJitsu4 жыл бұрын
Body position is relevant for all bikes...no one said anything about dragging knee either but I think everyone should learn and practice. #2 Learning to do this provides a way to be comfortable being uncomfortable. It teaches you how to do something that’s challenging, which can be applied to any aspect of your life. Learning and practicing full body position gives you a lot of confidence, it teaches you what your bike is capable of, you learn various levels of grip with your tires, you’ll understand how leaning causes motorcycle to slow down, so you need to slightly increase throttle the more you lean in order to maintain your speed. This is a great way to practice your vision, staying relaxed, committing to a goal, build muscle memory-you’ll learn how the timing of when and how much you move your body makes a difference in how the bike handles. You’ll discover the limitations of yourself, where your fear threshold is, where to place your weight, what’s comfortable for you, etc. If you never learn how to do this or even attempt to, you’ll never understand the difficulty and benefits it provides. Many people simply have never tried, attended a class teaching body position, or practice therefore prematurely say it’s pointless-giving an opinion about something outside your experience is just ignorant. Go practice and see for yourself. Set up a 40ft diameter circle, wear full gear, and get to it. As a reminder, I think knee dragging or any movement with your lower body is 100% unnecessary on public roads. In fact, if you followed behind me on the street, even if we are going at a good pace, I hardly move my body at all, if anything just upper body.

Many things to learn...takes a long time and lots of focused attention to what you’re doing. Trial and error with everything. Don’t be limited to the tools around your waste, learn as much as you can. Even things you say you’re not worried about. You don’t know what you don’t know and you won’t ever know the benefits of knee down or dirt riding or track days or whatever else unless you try. Don’t limit yourself by discarding things right off the bat.

The key element I learned in my BRC this past weekend was rotating and moving to the outside to counter balance in slow speed maneuvers like u-turns. That helped a lot, especially for my particular bike which has a seat height of 36.6 inches (WR250R) so the CG is much higher than average but still rather well balanced. I was on a little TW200 on the course for reference.

Hi, do you have any tip regarding lower body position after maintaining a correct head and upper body position? I seem to always spun the other way around when i tried to move my lower body to the inside of the corner

Bro, much respect as you are clearly extremely talented. I've been a subscriber now for a few weeks and have personally practiced many of the exercises you have demonstrated. That being the case are you ever going to get back on the road and show some real world stuff. Any chance for some higher speed control braking, counter steering, anything like that? Also I would like to see some road/riding strategy for everyday real world riding. You are amazing don't get me wrong but you are redoing the same old stuff in parking lots. Show us some more advanced techniques for real everyday riding. Shut up and practice!!!!Love ya, ride safe...

Yea man I have a friend we call fast Eddie but thanks for ur info there are several mc channels that really don't need to be putting out the content they do cuz they are just wrong not tryin to bash on ppl but some of them talk a good game but the proof is in the pudding some others do illegal traffic maneuvers it's kinda dangerous if a inexperienced rider listens and watches them and believes what they are doing and saying any who thanks for the great and correct videos

You're welcome. Yup, many people have videos that are meant to entertain, not educate. And the ones that try to educate are like White Belts trying to teach other White Belts.

Amazing video!! Quick question, do you lean your upper body forward as well as you rotate it to the direction you are going?

Eddie, I know how important it is to turn your nose/chin in the direction you want to go, but having trouble turning my head like I should do to a couple surgeries/disk fusions. Any tips to help compensate for this? maybe turning my shoulders will force my head to follow? Thanks for your riding tips. I see so many people on the street wearing flipflops, t-shirts, no helmets, tailgating, riding like their on the track, etc etc its no wonder mc crash statistics are so high

Yes, injuries, flexibility, etc. will always play a part but more shoulder rotation will allow your head to turn more :) Yes, I hope to keep reaching out to those people.

your videos are really helpful. I wanna become a better rider so i started practicing your belt exercises. Im kinda new rider and i think I'm just using my head to do turns and corners, and "trying" to counterbalance when i do an u-turn but i think i might be doing it wrong. Is there a video where you explain this whole body position stuff, like when should we use it, how do we practice it etc?

You said to sit one fist away from the tank. But what if your arms aren't long enough? I have the exact same bike and I have to jump on the handlebars. That means I don't sit up straight, but lean forward on the handlebars. I was wondering what the right seating position and posture is for the bike. What is your sitting position when someone are looked at you from the side. Do you sit completely straight or do you sit slightly bent over? At what speed do you change from the slow position to the fast position?
