@@40101Mortem Yes, but it really doesn’t matter to my theory how many bodies there are aside from the two pilots. Also as long as they are not on the plane, we can not say for sure that that is were they came from. There is a lot of scrap on the island, a lot of it with the post soviet Russian flag from 1991-1993 on it, plus the Chimpanzees from the Soviet Union space program were also left behind on Madagascar. It‘s reasonable to assume that Russia (or formerly the Soviet Union) in this world either dumps their scrap onto the island or have had major crashes on the island, which also explains the other bodies. All Hail King Julien takes place around 1999-2005, there were many opportunities between that time and 1939 that other people could have crashed or stranded here

Another thing to consider is, why in hell would the plane navigator be sitting in first class wearing a tuxedo and top hat? He's a navigator, he's supposed to navigate, in navigating clothes and in the cockpit Considering that the plane belongs to a french tourist company, the island of Madagascar was a french colony from 1897 to 1958 and King Julien is a massive, massive bullsh•tter (there is NO way a lemur has visited the entirety of a 587k Km² island, he has absolutely no idea if there are other humans or not), I think it's safe to say that this is just a random tourism plane that went down due to some malfunction
@madagascast23 күн бұрын
Thats true, however I still think that it was originally supposed to be Amelia Earhart. In the first movie there is only the 2 pilots visible and we dont see the magazine etc yet. Except that it is a plane flying to Madagascar, in the first movie there isnt really anything different from the real plane. Also, at an earlier point in the movie we see a newspaper that says „Amelia Airhart found“ which is 100% a reference to Amelia Earhart The thing is, Madagascar was never inhabited by humans in the Madagascar franchise. In the All Hail King Julien show we see practically the entire island over the course of the 6 seasons, theres the lemur kingdom, mountain lemur kingdom, Crocodile kingdom, rat kingdom, aye-aye kingdom and so on, so there are definitely no humans on the island. The only maps of Madagascar that are visible in the franchise (except for ones drawn by animals) only show the silhouette and some locations around the shore. And the only rare instance of humans on the island is a handful of scientists we see in an episode of All Hail King Julien, however they dont live there and they arrived there ~40 years after the plane crashed

I think it's just a French passenger plane that crashed while carrying tourists to Madagascar. - The skeleton you propose to be Newman is just a passenger of the first class, not a navigator. Look at his clothes, which may I add are also not time period accurate but get across the ''vibe'' of a rich, posh person from the past. - Just like the shirt with pineapples which is supposed to show a ''typical'' person on vacation. - The iconic ''pilot clothes'' are supposed to show ''this is the pilot'' even tho, yet again, they do not fit the time and place. - One pilot being called Amelia is just a reference. - Also, I'm not entirely sure about Madagascar not having any human population. I always assumed the movies, shorts, and shows just take place in a far remote part of Madagascar where humans don't venture.
@madagascast22 күн бұрын
@@kingagrabowska9366 The details do not match exactly, but in the first movie there is a lot more matching, as you only see the two pilots and no other bodies, the magazine isn’t shown yet etc. The first movie also has a newspaper in it that says „Amelia Airhart found“ The plane is a pretty good match to the real one and they as I said name the skeleton Amelia Theres some huge contradictions but it definitely is an intentional reference to Earhart that they just did not put much thought into afterwards. About no humans living on Madagascar, in the All Hail King Julien show you see almost the entire island, and you see maps of the island and the entire island is divided by different nations only inhabited by animals (the Lemur Kingdom, Fossa Territory, Rat Kingdom, Crocodile Kingdom etc). The only maps of Madagascar drawn by humans (For example on the SS Act II (the freighter in the first movie)) have no locations on them, except for a handful of locations along the shore being named. No humans live on Madagascar in this franchise, from the Space Chimpanzees in the All Hail King Julien show we learn that the soviet union dumped a bunch of junk onto the island (we also see a junk yard with many old machines that have the Russian flag from 1991-1993 on it). @@madagascast I suspect that the pilot hanging in the tree is the navigator and Amelia is the pilot in the plane. The others were passengers on this flight. First class (skeleton with top hat and suit) and second class (Hawaiian shirt and shorts). As said, it makes no sense that someone in a top hat and suit is the navigator. Amelia probably did a few sightseeing flights/tours to Madagascar for work after her flight around the world. Perhaps Amelia was chosen to fly to the uninhabited island because of her experience. People have always been explorers and a tropical, still untouched island attracts many adventurous people. Perhaps something went wrong on one of these tours and they were stranded there. Maybe it was one of the first flights to Madagascar (promo on the plane, that you can now visit per plane etc.) and people wanted to build hotels and holiday resorts there in the future, which never happened because of this crash (bad omen). Since not all of the passengers were skeletons on the plane, I assume that some survived and were rescued. Perhaps the plane and the rest were searched for and then they were found. That's why the article in the newspaper came about.

So uh... Here's my take: It's a tour flight to Madagascar. Probably on her maiden voyage paid for by the rich dude trying to dip his toes into being an entrepeneur. Its possible that in the movie timeline, Earheart and Nunan, after they successfully made their flight around the world, became even more famous. Their skills were admired even more and they were tasked with flying the first expedition ever to Madagascar. Due to the confidence the public had in them, it was made as a tourist trip with civilians on board, presumably sponsored by the rich man in the first class. Of course this would spark massive media attention, as did their disappearence. This would also explain why there were no humans on Madagascar since no one would dare to fly to it anymore after the most famous flight duo of the time died.

It's an alternate universe, the fancy skeleton and the Hawaii shirt skeleton can easily be explained. Example, the fancy dude could have been a rich guy who wanted Amelia and Fred to fly him to Madagascar because it is uninhabited and the man wanted to profit off of it. The Hawaii shirt dude? First shirts like that appeared in the 20s and 30s, so it's either someone the fancy dude pulled along, or someone crash landed/ drowned near Madagascar later on (60s and 70s) and the lemurs, thinking God knows what, just pulled him onboard the plane with the rest, kinda like girls playing with Barbies, except it's dead people. Some comments have mentioned that the ring is an antenna. It's specifically an antenna for a radio compass. It's an American plane, like the Lockheed Super Electra, it would likely be a Bendix Radio compass. The pilot would tune the radio to the frequency of a radio beacon. There would be an instrument in the cockpit that would either point toward where the beacon is or it would have a needle that pointed left, right, or center depending on the course of the aircraft. This technology evolved into more sophisticated radio navigation equipment.

I also forgot about him until you mentioned him in your video. But if he is referenced I don't think Fred is is the skeleton in the tuxedo, as that doesn't make sense in universe or as a reference. | Though if he is referenced he'd definitely be the pilot hanging from the tree. I also think the passengers were just passengers, and not intended to be a reference. If just the pilot and the plane shape were the reference, that would explain why the plane is a french tour plane. And then you don't also have to try explain or figure out why Amelia the American pilot was flying a French tour plane.

I do not believe that the plane has any direct connection to Emilia Erhardt in universe. The alusions to the famous flight are nothing but references and winks to the audience but has no bearing on in universe canon. Why would Emilia fly trips to Madagascar from France of all places? It simply makes no sense! It is just a commercial trip for rich frenchmen (Emilia's copilot wouldn't be dressed in a fine evening attire, it is simply a passager). One last thing to mention, the ring on top is most likely an antenna. I'm no aviation expert though, it's most likely just a cosmetic addition.

Yes that does make more sense! I‘m still very sure it is a reference and also that it was at some point supposed to be Earhart‘s plane If you only look at the first movie, which is the first time we ever see this plane and these bodies, all that we see is the plane itself which I still think matches very well, and the 2 pilots. The magazine and other bodies etc arent visible Also in the first movie there is a newspaper in an earlier scene saying „Amelia Airhart found“ all this to me seems like they wanted to reference Earhart but put very little research into it and made a few errors And then later in Merry Madagascar, which plays right after Madagascar, they name the pilot Amelia And then of course the other details added later on don’t quite work anymore either Youre right that it doesnt work together very well, but it definitely is an intentional reference to Earhart that they just didnt put much thought into afterwards

The plane's probably hard to nail down as it's most likely a situation like you'd find in CoD or whatever, where it's meant to be a Lockheed Electra, but due to licensing and or not having decent enough reference material, they just made it look generic for the given era it's meant to be from. It could also be something like Thomas from Thomas the Tank Engine, who looks a lot like an LB&SCR E2 but is still fictional. It doesn't need to be exact, as it's a set piece. It could easily be a mix of say, the Beechcraft Model 18, Lockheed Electra, just a generic enough, era appropriate plane, to fit the setting without needing the hassle of dealing with licensing and that. Talking with Lockheed for the sake of a kids movie isn't high on priorities, I'd imagine :P Although it's nice to finally see a video of the plane being talked about in depth and the theories surrounding it, it's been too long since I've seen the movies XD Good video!

Visitez iwould be the plural conjugation but is also the conjugation of the verb you use when addressing people who are not personally close to you. The plane just says "Visit madagascar by plane" and is either addressing a group, or an individual with whom the pilot does not have a close personal relationship. Essentially, that conjugation of the verb is the default when talking to someone you dont know well.

The roof ring reminds me of an aerial/antenna. I've seen it in a Scooby doo episode which was made in the late 60s early 70s. In the episode it's used on the mystery machine to track down Scooby Doo using radar. This ring may have been used for radar irl, maybe not on airplanes though.

But why would Amelia Earhart fly a commercial plane? Its quite obvious that the guy in front is supposed to be some rich guy in first class, and the 3rd body is just regular class. Also there being 3 skeletons doesnt mean this was the only people on the plane as the plane itself is mostly intact. They could have just died in the initial crash and the others who did survive went on to leave the plane and try to survive on some other part of the island. Or they might have died at sea trying to escape using a raft. After some digging I believe that the plane is supposed to resemble a L-10/ L-14 Electra which would fit the time period of the date seen on the time magazine. Amelia Earhart did fly a L-10 Electra when she disappeared, but the magazine and 3rd passenger (not to mention only 1 out of the 3 bodies are wearing pilot gear) makes it pretty unlikely its actually her. Might be just another reference by the writers.

A fictional plane with a fictional crew is likely the true answer. But. If we had to make this work could the case be argued that rather than crashing like is assumed that they secretly landed and staged their own deaths, running away from their normal lives to live it up in the tropics together. use their plane to start up a small touring company to make cash. This way it explains the two extra skeletons as passengers, the date, and potential upgrades to the plane. Look it's a wild headcannon you could make but it's the only way to line it all up in my mind if you wanted it to be her.
@madagascast22 күн бұрын
I dont fully agree with your headcanon but it is a very interesting approach I think the true answer is that this was an intentional reference to Amelia Earhart, but it got a bit lost when they added the magazine and the other passengers etc. in later movies and shows. Because of this we *have to* make our own headcanons to make it work. I dont think yours is any more or less likely than mine, but I appreciate that you shared your ideas :) Thanks for the comment!
@ajiteshchandra23 күн бұрын
I don't think that's the Amelia Earhart. I think it's just a tourist plane traveling to Madagascar that had a female pilot with a similar name to Amelia who crashed on the island.
@madagascast23 күн бұрын
I am sure its an intentional reference. The plane is an almost exact match, its the same name and also, in another point in Madagascar movie 1, theres a newspaper saying "Amelia Airhart's plane was found". I'm sure it is a reference to Amelia Earhart and was just slightly changed.
@wacawkrol182423 күн бұрын
@@madagascastEven if its a reference , in universe it doeasnt add up. You need to diferenciate between the in and out universe perspectives.
@madagascast23 күн бұрын
@@wacawkrol1824 yes thats a fair point. I'm confident that it is intentional. And what I didn't mention (you could piece it together but I didnt outright say it) is that when the first movie released it added up. The magazine didnt exist, only the 2 pilots were visible and so on. So I definitely think that it was supposed to be canon in universe, the only two changes being that they were found and that they landed on Madagascar instead. The rest is the attempt to make it work in universe, but even more so this video was an attempt to improve upon the common theory which ignores the other passengers and so on. I'm not saying that this is definitely what happened.

That hoop antenna was most likely part of what ships and early aviation used to used know where they were at sea before the advent of GPS, RDF (Radio Direction Finder) if my memory serves correctly. Plane wise I think the earlier models of the DC-3 Douglas would also be a likely candidate for the aircraft as well. DC-3 are still flown all across the globe to this day as well and is an easy to reference model for any studio.

Eh, the pilot being "named" Amelia and using some clothes very similar to what she used is probably just a little reference they managed to sneak in there, as well as the time magazine. Pretty sure everything else is fictional, even the airplane being a sort of mix of multiple models from the late 30's. It's cool to speculate, being a fictional world and all, but I just don't think it goes that deep.

The ring is a old radio antenna. These were common on many WW2 and after aircraft. Now it does resemble a model 10 and model 14 oddly. The wings are tilted upwards slightly like the model 14 but it has a model 10 pair of engines... Which actually makes sense as a lot of tourist companies ran them cheap and essentially repaired old ww2 bombers with parts from other planes. So I don't think it's amelia and her navigator. Just a French tourist company with a passanger.

The crash would’ve actually needed to happen recently because it takes about 1-30 years for bone to decompose so that would mean that Madagascar takes place somewhere around the 40s, 50s, 60s or time works differently in Madagascar.

@@SunsetSoda. Madagascar takes place in the 2000s and because of the Magazine and no living lemur remembering the plane crash, the plane has to have crashed around the 1930s, maaaybe 1940s. Time does not work differently but I guess the skeletons just didnt further decompose because of cartoon logic
