Probably the best rescue stories I heard 🥺 lately. Cant even imagine if the coach wasn't there with them.
@ProbablyLost Жыл бұрын
Ya know, the coach got a LOT of heat internationally for taking the team that deep into the cave. But from what we'd read & heard, the team planned to go anyway & he went to be with them to make sure an adult was there. I completely share your thoughts on this. I can't imagine what would've happened had those boys not had him there. He's lightyears ahead of the level of maturity that most people reach in their lifetimes. He deserves so much praise for ensuring they made it out okay. Thank you so much for taking the time to watch our video!

I'm Thai and never been to this cave before. It's really heart clinching to watch all the documentary. Part from Wikipedia about Saman. "...Formerly a member of Thai Navy SEALs class 30, Kunan had left the SEALs in 2006 at the rank of petty officer 1st class; he was working in security at Bangkok's Suvarnabhumi Airport when he volunteered to assist with the cave rescue. He was posthumously promoted to lieutenant commander by the Commander-in-Chief of the Royal Thai Navy, an unprecedented rise of seven ranks.[104][105] A funeral, sponsored and attended by the Thai royal family, was held on 14 July. On the same day, Kunan was awarded the Knight Grand Cross (first class) of the Most Exalted Order of the White Elephant by King Maha Vajiralongkorn..."

An easy way to distinguish between the two is: Stalag/has a rounded sound. (gh), so just imagine water bubbling up from the floor. It's going to have a rounded top. Now, a stalagTITE has a sharp sound. An icicle hangs down and is sharp at the bottom. So, if it's hanging from above...

Just wanted to ask if you were welcomed by the locals? Considering the fact that a tragedy did take place over there, so is it appropriate to visit it as a tourist site? I am asking this question because I am pretty much intrigued to visit the cave. P.S: Beautifully executed, the video encapsulates the respect you have for this whole place.
@ProbablyLost Жыл бұрын
From what we understand locals and tourists were going to the cave before the accident since it was in the National park and a site for prayer. We spoke to several groups that had been there many times before the accident. It is a beautiful cave and there are more caves in the area to explore other than just the one. The people have done a great job for creating a memorial of the lives lost while also educating visitors about the importance of cave and diving safety. Definitely recommend going if you are in the area. Thanks for watching!

So the rest of the cave has been shut off forever? Or was it never supposed to be adventured down in the first place? 🤔
@ProbablyLost Жыл бұрын
I believe so! They're very adamant that people aren't allowed to venture beyond the gate (with good reason lol). Before the kids were trapped, it wasn't really the tourist attraction that it is now so I would imagine there wasn't much in place to keep people from going back. Hopefully that makes sense, & thank you so much for watching our video!!
@cherrytraveller5915 Жыл бұрын
I don't think it has. You just need to be experienced and I think you need to get the correct permits and stuff to enter the cave. I have read that all of the boys have been back to the cave since being trapped. And there are video on here that are taken from where the boys were.
Pls comeback to this cave again to the point where the kids were found. Now it’s already open to public.

I think they never planned to go that deep into the cave, it's just that the rain must've already been at a dangerously high level by the time they wanted to go out, so they had no choice but to go DEEPER into the cave to find high ground, and after they did, they got stuck there.
@cherrytraveller5915 Жыл бұрын
They got caught out which is a simple fact. It was an annual tradition to go into the cave to welcome new members to the team. They were also celebrating one of the boys birthday. An expert on the cave was scheduled to make a solo journey into the cave a week after the boys got caught said that they were simply unlucky. No one was aware of what the weather had been doing on the other side of the mountain and it had caught them out which forced them further into the cave. They were caught in chamber three which wasn't that far in but were forced further in as the water rose.
