The GTA series is one of the all time pillars of gaming. Rockstar has sold its soul to the demons of online gaming. GTA5 was more of a technical masterpiece than a story based adventure. It retread characters from previous games and then turned into a psychopath online playground. Old games are still the best.

6:09 yeah people seem to forget that GTA ruled the gaming industry way before GTA Online became a thing. Hell GTA 5 broke sales records on its first 3 days of release when the online was no where to be found. Hopefully GTA 6 has a greater focus on story and interesting characters. Though I’m not sure any future GTA story will compare to GTA 4 or its DLC’s.

Yeah it probably is the best DLC ever made. Especialy TBoGT. It had one of the best pacing of any GTA game, and every single character was so enjoyable, and it was just fun to play more lighthearted story after GTA IV (without loosing the quality writing rockstar is famous for). GTA IV is to this day one of the best and most impressive games ever released, and to think that it's DLC's are pretty much full new stories on the same level of quality is incredible. I gotta say though, i love GTA IV, SA, VC, CW but my favourite one is GTA V - not becasue it's the newest, but i just love the main story, writing and characters (even though it's not tragic, and is more silly than any GTA before).

this is why my main console will forever be the xbox 360, i own current gen consoles but the real AAA high standard games were on the 7th generation, everything after that was low quality (with some exceptions of course like rdr2)

another thing worth noting about the dlcs was depending on which dlc you were in, you would get different weapons, game mode options, and character customization for multiplayer

I completed the Ballad of Gay Tony but never The Lost and Damned and the one thing that makes this game stand out from the original GTA 4 is Vice City FM, the radio station that played 1980s pop music and what a station that was! 🎶

Another thing that lost and damned and battle of gay Tony has is the 3 maps are open while gta 4 the 2 maps are close because of island restrictions and it’s because of blow your cover and three leaf clover to open the map for gta 4.

The EFLC fix a big issue i had with GTA4: once you complete Niko's story you have nothing to shoot up, except police. The DLCs have infinite gang wars.

of course i remember it, people in online mode said i had aimbot because i use to use buzzard landing gear camera view and minigun them in 2 seconds flat. then if them or their friend got a lucky kill on me they would just missile spam the ground with missiles until they would kill me and not let me near another helicopter. as for single player i currently have it on steam deck and might 100% the game and TLAD after i 100% san andreas for the first time in my life.

The Lost and Damned was my favorite of the DLC stories, the only thing I didn't like was the color filter in the game, I had to mess with the display settings in game, on my xbox 360, and tv to fade out the yellow and orange on screen. After that the color looked pretty much normal, but with a little bit of an orange tint and that didn't stand out though.

What a trilogy. Episodes from Liberty City are some of the reasons I absolutely hate gta online, it's success and players. Rockstar used to deliver amazing expansions that added to the core games and even expanded on it, talk about the true definition of "expanded and enhanced". Goat franchise, goat characters, goat dlcs.

GTA IV was one of the wackiest launches in the history of triple A PC gaming. The console versions had been somewhat more polished. Yet, the performance was nonetheless abysmal, with frames fluctuating from 20 to 30 on PS3 and from 20 to 40 on xbox 360, leaving the gamers with questionably playable experience. Nobody buys the console to struggle with the broken frametimes. 30 fps lock is already a kind of a fair compromise the consoles take. Going so far below that is just straight up bad. The image quality was also quite meh even for the 2008. Especially considering the shaky performance and the hype the game was generating. GTA IV is now properly enjoyable on high end PCs with mods fixing the shaky performance, graphical glitches, and restoring the content cut from the console version. Alternatively an xbox one, or a series are fine in the backward compatibility mode as long as you bite the bullet and suffer the low image quality. Luckily, the performance is stable though. I am not surprised that sometimes players rediscover GTA IV. Today it is just possible to play without all the struggle it had back in 2008.

GTA 4 was too mean spirited with its satire. Boring missions, none of the wacky side stuff the other games had and the friend system was a failure. The color pallete was drab and depressing. Turns out a realistic NYC is boring (same with GTA Vs LA)
