OMG - 173, 000 Squirrel monkeys were shipped in 6o's and 7o's via USPS by a Miami based company "Animal Farm" in cardboard boxes via mail-order adds in comic books . I'd hope to think laws were created to stop this activity. How incredibly sad . I read that most didn't survive shipment and in some case folks were severely bitten by scared animals. Squirrel monkeys make terrible pets and most will try to self-harm in captivity. We know today that taking care of exotic animals is very difficult, most species never adapt and should never be pets.
