Grew up in Newark behind Seton Hall University. My buddies and I used to play hooky from grammar school and ride the Erie Lackawanna electrics from the South Orange station to fishing points west. Yup flattenin' pennies the whole 9 yards . Made friends with Whitey an engineer. Used to ride in the cab with him. Oh the memories. What a different time the 70's. E

My family moved to Vineland in the 1960s and lived at 6th and Montrose a block off PRSL row and the spur serving the lumber yard and the DeRossi Textile. My grandfather was a customer of the Ice plant served by the CNJ for his piragua business and I have fond memories of picking up the perfect ice blocks for the shaved ice with him as a child from the plant. Awesome to see the trains that my grandfather described seeing from those times.

RS Alco’s are an engine that would be on my favorite roster. I could watch them all day long. All of your videos are great and this one is no exception.
