My Dad was friends with JD Crowe. I was at my Dad's house in Lexington on leave once from the Marines well over a decade ago, and got to play golf with JD, my Dad and his cousin. At the time, only having a passing interest in Bluegrass music at the time, I never knew that I was golfing with an absolute Bluegrass Music icon. A true American treasure. JD gave me one of his The New South CD after we played and signed it for me.
